OOS who have recently (in the past 3 weeks) received secondaries, when did you get the "we have your application" e-mail? thanks!
 
Hey, how much time has everyone seen between submitting their secondary and interview invite??

My update letter went through immediately after I sent it from a different email address of mine. Dang, wish I had tried that last week.

I submitted 8/3; I got invited on 8/31.

Got the "we have your app" e-mail Sept 30th
Secondary October 19th
 
I received my primary application received email on August 5th and have not heard back from them for 11 weeks. I received 20 secondaries out of 21 schools I have applied. UNC is the only school that has not given me a secondary. Should I email them to see if my file is complete and hopefully get a secondary? Is this a silent rejection? I do not know what to do? Any suggestions?

Is anyone a re-applicant at UNC? If so how is the waiting game treating you guys?

I was verified 9/20 and received secondary 10/19. Very slow, but UNC made a point of being reapplicant friendly during my first time interview there last year. They stressed that re-applicant status shows perseverance and determination for medicine. Ill post if I get an interview. You can see my application stats etc on MDApps. Hope that helps (but it probably doesnt)

I would call them... I think thats really all you can do because one of two things probably happened. Either they made a mistake or sent you the secondary and it went to your junk folder where its been sitting for months, or they didnt send you a secondary yet. Just call and ask which if they sent you a secondary yet or if you should keep waiting. Cant see how it could hurt and it could put your mind at least somewhat at ease.

out of curiosity, what is the time frame looking like between submitting secondary and receiving a secondary invite?

Reapp here as well. Submitted my secondary on 10/9... the waiting game is killing me. Have they started giving reapp interviews yet? I heard the reapp committee only started meeting about 4 weeks ago, but that could be bogus.

Thank you, Alex. I think I will give them a call. I know that I have been checking the Spam folder ever since I found one of Albert Einstein's emails in there, but it could be that they just decided not to give me a secondary. In any case, I will probably call/email them this coming week.

I applied to UNC last year and didn't get in! I reapplied this year and just received a secondary last week. I was wondering if anyone knew if you automatically received an interview if you get a secondary as a re-applicant? I am IS. I've heard different things so I just want to know if I should be excited or super excited! Thanks!🙂
 
"Qualified re-applicants will be invited to complete a supplemental application. Once the supplemental application and the required fee are returned, the committee will review all of your credentials and evaluate your updated applicant profile. After the review you will be considered for an interview, and if selected, you will be contacted via emal by our Interview Coordinator regarding scheduling."

so another round of acceptances should go out this coming monday (31st) im guessing? this wait is killing me, and it doesn't help that I walk by the admissions office every day going to class haha
 
I called the office today to ask a question about the residency form, and while I was talking to Ms. Reid, I told her that I submitted my secondary over the weekend, and was curious about how long I should wait before it would be appropriate to call and check my status.

She told me that they try to meet every week, and that we should know something very soon. Just passing along any info - waiting sucks.

10/25 II!! OOS and secondary submitted 09/06 so had to wait a while but it's all worth it if it goes well. interviewing on Halloween (bad luck?? ha). good luck everyone!

btw stats for anyone trying to gauge 36Q, 3.8 overall, 3.75 science

Great! Halloween is the greatest holiday ever, so I think it will be good luck.

I'll see you on Halloween! I was curious if anyone else was going to sign-up for the Halloween slots, was pretty surprised no one had when I signed up for my interview last week. Guess people are superstitious, but I love Halloween. If anything it should allow for some light and fun topics to discuss.
 
This is for the OOS currently awaiting secondaries. I received this email after getting tired of waiting for a secondary or a response after waiting for about 11 weeks:

"Thank you for your interest in UNC. The Out of State Committee is in the process of reviewing applications and once they have made a decision you will receive and email from us. Thank you for your patience and good luck."
 
question for people who are able to see the interview scheduling platform:

about what date are the next interview openings? are they fully booked up for the next couple of weeks?
 
I know Halloween isnt a 'real' holiday, but you you think the adcom meeting will be cancelled?
 
I hope it's not cancled, hopefully some of us will get some good news

The earliest interview date available is 11/28. The schedule is pretty much wide open after that date too.
 
Took a few weeks to get an 2nd invite (OOS). Submitted 9/5 but haven't heard anything about an interview yet.

i hope so.. but things like this where luck is concerned.. ive had an awefully bad month. I hope my bad luck doesnt carry over to the decision making process.

Just FYI, I don't think they only call. I was accepted by email (didn't get a call), so if you don't get a phone call it's not the end of the world. Mine came tuesday morning.

Check cell phone CONSTANTLY [ ]
Call home every thirty minutes to see if CH called there [ ]
Bite fingernails [ ]
Skip a few heartbeats every time I feel phantom vibrations in my pocket [ ]
Refresh Email constantly for 5 days [ ]
Accomplish NOTHING tonight [ ]
 
If you get the call, it would be awesome if you could post your interview day and/or interviewer!
 
how strict are they with the word count for the supplement? it seems that it will let you submit with > 150 words... any1 have experience with this?
 
Nothing here either. Maybe some Tues morning emails? ha
 
Me three...nothing yet...at least it's unanimous...so far. Good to "see" you on here, RJS.

I hope we all get good news soon. On interview day I heard someone say that last year a student received the call a week or so before classes started. I hope I hear positive news sooner than that!
