Pretty sure an update letter wouldn't help my ranking but I did just get my degree and raised my gpa a few points with a's in upper lvl science classes

Does anyone have Diane's email address? I would like to send an email asking what number they are at on the waitlist. I see someone was accepted in the top 60, but I'm surprised if they already in the 50's-60, considering they were only at 35 this time last year, post-May 15th.

sent in a letter of intent/update today. probably won't do any good or even be read but who knows

I just received a response from Strother that they are currently at number 40 on the waitlist.
 
They ended up at 60 last year right?
 
At least one from the "top 1/3" got in last year.
 
I don't know how many they took last year. They say the average has been 60, but I would be interested in know exactly what the cutoff was last year. Anyone want to inquire?

Accepted about 3 weeks ago after a no decision post interview!!! Very excited about Memphis. Does anyone have the link to the Facebook group? I'm looking for a roommate!
 
Congrats! Do you know where you were on the waitlist (e.g. top 60, top 50)? Or did you never receive notice of being on the waitlist?

"We have made 48 offers of acceptance to alternates, thus far. The admissions committee ranks the list at the end of the admissions cycle and the ranking is set. It is certainly fine to submit updates, but they do not affect the ranking."

Yeah they are. But for me to get excited, they need to like FLY through it to my name. lol

I went back looking for waitlist data out of curiosity and decided to plot it. I found a few ambiguous waitlist dates and movements, but even if slightly inaccurate, it could be helpful to make this available for future classes to add data to. Anyone who wants to scour old posts for more dates could help. I can also make the xls available to anyone that wants to update it.

On a positive note, it seems they are climbing the waitlist faster than last year. Hopefully they are into the 'top 60' (the 51-60) as of now!

Congrats on your acceptance to medical school! My name is Zach Nahmias, and I not only have type 1 diabetes as you can tell by my user name, I am also the President of Phi Chi at UTCOM. We have 2 or 3 spots left to fill for next year. Our house is located at 687 Jefferson Ave. right down from The Med and around the corner from school. Each room is a single and the fraternity house is co-ed. Hey guys, Congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far! I didn't see a Facebook page for our class yet so I created one called UTHSC College of Medicine class of 2016. If one exists somewhere already let me know, otherwise spread the word. See you in a couple months!

There is one already, with about 60ish people in it so far. It has the exact same name as yours does, but it's been around since November-ish.

Bottom half. Interview January.

For those of us who are looking at reapps, anyone know the process with the UT wl? At the end of the wl enclosure it says something about June 1 notifications for no more spaces and June 30 is usual end of offers.

Do we have to wait to submit our AMCAS until after we hear from UT or withdraw if we are reapplying? I'm so confused now.

Also, Congrats to those accepted!

Got the call this morning at 8:56am central! I'm going to Memphis! I was told top 60.
 
Big congrats Lynn! C'mon upper 1/3...

TropicalKitty: They will continue offers off of the wait list up until classes start, but they slow a lot by the end of June. My conversations with Mr. Strother suggested that we could reapply now if we want, or wait a bit. I would contact the admissions office for more detailed information.

I wish I knew better of my placement since it seems like other folks have gotten at least narrowed down to thirds. haha I could be #123 or #245.
