Harsh 🙁 did anyone else feel this way?

Also: Maybe I'm just missing something here but how do you check the status of your secondary to make sure it was submitted etc. ?

You should have gotten a confirm email, but since they apparently had the main admissions lady retire all hell seems to have broken loose so who knows if they have anyone's stuff. Sucks for people who actually want to go here.

Toledo, if you're listening, you are going to lose all your good applicants to the other SIX Ohio schools if we don't hear from you soon.

I'm surprised you had such a bad experience. My interview day was awesome and actually put Toledo as one of my top choices.

Well, I received a confirmation of payment, but no email that said "your app is complete" so I have no idea. I'll call them on Monday.....again 🙁 I'm very interested in this school so I'm definitely bummed to hear that someone had such an awful experience too
 
I submitted my secondary Oct 4th, did not receive an e-mail of completion (though that seems on par with everyone else's experience).

I would love to go here so I'm crossing my fingers for an II (or at the least, some acknowledgment of a "complete" status).

People who interviewed- did you receive a complete e-mail or did they jump straight to an invite? And how much time between secondary completion and your II? Thanks!
 
I was complete on 9/1 and I haven't heard anything since.

Submitted secondary 7/26, received the complete email 7/29 and interview invite 9/23. Keep in mind however that I submitted my 2ndary before the staff change happened. Hope this helps.
 
I added Toledo to my primary 8/16 and never got a secondary from them, no receipt of payment, etc. Sent an email a month ago, no response. The only reason why I applied is because I go to school in Ohio, so I gave it a shot. Would rather go back home to Chicago, especially after seeing how disorganized this school is. Won't lose any sleep over this 👎
 
So, I was in the same boat as everyone, thinking my application is lost among the piles and piles of applications. I was complete 7-11 or around there and I thought all hope was lost on this school. I also was bummed because I have a few friends who attend this school and they like it. But it all changed because I got the II and I'm pumped. The school is only an hour and a half away from my home and I live in Michigan. I'm pumped for this interview, and I just want to let you guys know they are still going through the process and there's still hope 🙂

I don't know, I got a secondary back a few days after I sent them my initial application, and I'm OOS, and that was in September...
 
I submitted my secondary application 2 months ago. I just got an email saying I'm complete and are now under review.
 
Hey all,

I just got this email from admissions, "Your application IS under review for an interview decision and we will notify you as soon as a decision is made electronically and/or by regular mail".

Does anyone know how long it is until you hear back after the review? Damn ambiguity...:poke:

Yea Me Too - Same email. Hopefully we will hear something soon, I have been complete since JULY 29TH! UGHHHH....
 
Hi all! I've been lurking on this thread for a while now. I FINALLY got my complete email this morning, after submitting my secondary ~ 5 weeks ago. Hallelujah! It's great that they interview through the second week of April (even if it is for the waitlist). Anyways. Hi!
 
I wonder if its safe to assume that anyone submitting a secondary right now could still be considered "early" for Toledo since its taken them longer than usual to receive/process everything

Maybe. Though I'm sure they know when they received your application.

And I just got an email as well confirming that I was under review.

Also just got my complete email too. I tried submitting my secondary way beginning of Sept. through the fee waiver process but just finally got it submitted last week.

got the random status update email today too. anyone hear for interviews lately? i saw something on page 3 but that was like a month ago
 
Primary was complete July 5, haven't heard anything yet, nothing about a secondary request. Gave them a call, and apparently I should be able to expect a secondary request any day now. They had no idea why I hadn't gotten a secondary request, as they said it should have gone out in August...

Bit of a rough first impression, but we'll see where things go from here.
 
So I submitted my secondary on September 10th and finally today received this complete e-mail below:

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL.
Your application for admissions to the University of Toledo College of Medicine is complete. Your application IS under review for an interview decision and we will notify you as soon as a decision is made electronically and/or by regular mail. Interviews are conducted through the 2nd week of April 2012. Please remember there is no mechanism to check your status online at the website you used to submit your secondary application. Thank you for your interest in the University of Toledo and your patience during the admissions process.


It seems like it takes about 4 weeks to process the secondary just like Howard SOM did as well. At this point I don't care anymore all I have to do is wait and see. It does seem like this year all the schools are being bombarded with applications and with furloughs and admissions being short staff they are doing the best they can. Ah well patience is a virtue 🙂 Cheers!!!

No, it seems they just sent out an email to everyone who has submitted their secondary, regardless of whether you submitted back in July, a week ago, or already received a complete email months ago. It's just to let everyone know that they have your application. They most likely are just starting to get their admin office caught up with everything and organized.

Agreed. I have a very bitter aftertaste from how long it took for them to accept my fee waiver. It took them 3 months to do something that they said would only take 3 days. 👎 To me, this is a red flag and speaks volumes about their medical school.
 
Guys, not only did they lose office staff, but they also lost their Dean. Give the new guy a break, I've met him, and he's amazing.

I agree, but I didn't know any of this until reading your post.
 
Yeah, I wouldn't go comparing a school to what the Admissions office does...completely separate entities. They have had a lot of transition with Admissions staff, but they are having interviews twice a week so I know they're going in a certain direction with things.
 
+1 to the application complete, under review email today. Has anybody received an interview invite recently? It's after October 15th, has anybody been admitted? I'm OOS. Good luck all.
 
submitted secondary 8/27 and just got complete email today... over 7 weeks.. is that normal?

I don't know if that's normal but it seems like they're catching on the loads of application lately. Everybody who sent in their secondary received their complete email

Maybe I got screened out? Weird, I passed VTC's, VCU's, and Wake's screen. Oh well, it is what it is :shrug:

Lol no you didnt, I'm OOS < 30 MCAT....call them and ask, or leave a voicemail with your AAMCID and they will get back to you
 
I got the same email....2 months to the day after I submitted my secondary. Sigh.

I know we need to be patient but after being patient for 4 months of this med school stuff, it gets harder. Throw us a bone!
 
Submitted secondary august 12, and have yet to get complete email.....loooooveee thiisss😕
 
If anyone is still waiting on a secondary, email or call the office. I did so and they told me that they had sent me a secondary request 2 months ago, but somehow I had never received it.

Also, so happy to finally get this secondary 🙂
 
Anyone know if this school has mandatory lecture attendance?

BTW guys, the wait is totally worth it. I had more than a 3 month turnaround for me to get my II and I'm OOS.

Well I didn't realize you sat on the admissions committee since you seem to pretend to know it all and be emperor of medical school admissions. The posting wasn't meant to state really anything just saying that I personally don't care anymore just will have to wait and see like everyone else 😛

Nope didn't feel this way I think they are doing there best. Just have to wait and see 😀
 
Interviewed recently, really enjoyed the school. Wait it out, I was impressed with Toledo!

Wow, sorry if I upset you. Just trying to point out that it's unpredictable for fellow applicants. Good luck to you.
 
Joining the ranks of those who recently received a secondary. Glad to see the ball is rolling! I'm excited! 🙂
