ACCEPTED 🙂🙂🙂 ahhhh my first acceptance!!! So excited!!

It's about time!

Haha congrats 😛

Congrats Einstein, this threads fearless leader!

Many congrats!!👍

Outstanding! Great job, einstein! Thrilled for you!:soexcited:

How did you find out? Did they call you?

yayyyyyy!!!!!!

Hahahaha thank you everyone! 🙂

And being the neurotic freak that I am, I obviously saw that my letters disappeared before I got the call. And of course I couldn't wait. So, I called them - she told me I should get my letter in the mail next week and that they were going to be offering me an acceptance! 🙂 YEEEEHAWWWWW, giddyup, bring it on Nebraska 🙂

So I have a question regarding the disappearance of letters. Once your letters disappear does that mean that the adcoms have made a specific decision about your app or only that they have made a decision? Also how will we hear about decisions? Do all decisions come via snail mail or only acceptances? Thanks and congrats to all of you guys getting in!

I believe you get a phone call if accepted. Or you can call like Einstein did and ask if a decision has been made and what the verdict is. Not sure if wait list/reject is via snail or email.

Did anybody else's letters disappear today? Haven't heard a peep and mine are still there. Maybe next week, I guess?

Mine did too. What day did you interview? Do you think it would be worth it to call tomorrow or should I just wait it out?

If it were me, I'd be dialing Creighton as soon as the admissions office opened! The suspense would be too much to take!

I interviewed on 9/29.

Just called after my letters disappeared yesterday and.....I'm in! Good luck to everybody else!

Haha I was the same way! I anxiously cleaned before I called because I was so nervous! If I can do it... you can do it 🙂

Yes, if your letters disappear, then it means that they have made a decision on your file. All decisions - acceptances, waitlists, and rejections - are snail mailed. But from what I read on this forum, CUSOM doesn't outright reject.

Yeah I'll try to summon up the courage to call before I have work at 2 pacific time otherwise I'd go crazy over the weekend

Withdrawing my acceptance to Creighton today. Good luck to those waiting!

Hmmm... I see they reviewed the 9/28 group yesterday, but I guess not my 9/29 group b/c my letters are STILL there!

C'mon Creighton, just say yes. I'm gonna be a good med student...promise!

Does Dr Quinn still call acceptances or was that just the first few batches?

Couldn't take it anymore either. Called after lunch. First MD acceptance!!! Good luck all

Yep, looks like I missed this last review by 1 interview day. Here's to another long week of waiting and stalking SDN!

Hey Einstein, pass me the torch. Looks like I get to be the primary neurotic in this forum now! LOL

I am interviewing at Creighton in December. What about Creighton do people on these forms like? I attended a Jesuit undergraduate school and had an uncle who went there, but I do not know very much beyond that. I have been reading the site to learn more, and see a few things I like. I would like to hear what everyone else loves about this school, so I can get a better idea of what Creighton is all about.

Wow, this torch is heavy! Or is it just the weight of Creighton's decision on my future that I'm feeling? 😕

I had absolutely no expectation of Creighton before I attended the interview (my very first one in early Sept). A M1 friend of mine was hyping it up a ton, but I just figured that was his school spirit. In fact, I was pretty set on going to a D.O. school.

So having practically zero expectation of what the school would be like, I was very much surprised by the atmosphere the school provided.

Virtually all the students were smiling (even the non-student ambassadors), and random students would just come up to me and ask how the interview day was going. They were also very helpful in making sure that I found where I was going. I mean, a completely random student was willing to just hang out with me until my friend was done with his anatomy lab.

They are just a super chill crowd. I'm sure that there are gunners, but the overall experience/fit of the school was just the thing I was hoping for.

After CUSOM had set the bar so high, I went to 5 other interviews (4 of which I was granted acceptances). No other school really matched up to the experience I had at Creighton other than DMU. When deciding between those two schools, it came down to the minute details... like class size (~150 CUSOM v. ~250 DMU) and what Des Moines and Omaha had to offer (both are really cool cities, but Omaha definitely had a closer feel to Spokane where I did my undergrad; it was just a nice familiar setting) because all the other peripherals were the same (recorded lectures, opportunities in specialties, chilly winters, etc. etc.)

All in all, CUSOM was just the best fit for me out of all the schools I interviewed at. Good luck with everything.

Haha, when my fiancée asked me what Omaha was like, I told her it was just like Spokane but a little greener. Coincidence?

What is Omaha like? I am from Alabama, and have never been of NE before.

Your stats seem fine but we have no idea what you wrote in the secondaries. They take those essays very seriously.

That's funny. I didn't think it was that much greener... but CUSOM did have all these buildings that had the same names as the buildings at Whitworth.

To me, it's urban enough but not too urban. I mean, I only spent about two days there, so I can't give you all the details, so you're just going to have to see it for yourself. All I can really say is that it's very similar to Spokane.

My letters are gone! They've made a decision! Unfortunately, I've been in an interview at another school all day and didn't get out until after the admissions office closed. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to find out my status. Pure torture!

Any idea how far the ii's have been filled already? End of December?

Well, I just got off the phone with the admissions office. Guess what, boys and girls...

I'M GOING TO BE A DOCTOR!!! ACCEPTED!!!

Congrats partner. I tell you what, perhaps our paths will meet in Omaha.
