Do you know if they actually looked up your file in the phone? When I called them before my decision they said like 2 more weeks also but I definitely got the feeling that they were just telling everyone who called that. Soooo frustrating that they take so long.

Ahhh yes, I gave him my AMCAS ID #, so he definitely looked me up. But I know people who interviewed on the same day as me & have received decisions, so I'm not sure why there's such a hold up on mine... :l

Is there going to be any CAP movement soon? or are we waiting till March-April now..

Were the people who heard waitlisted, accepted, or denied? Perhaps they are releasing decisions categorically rather than chronologically?

There was some last week. I was told they'd be going into the CAP once a month to pull people out, so I would assume next batch of people will hear early March

if looking at the last 2 cycles, nothing will happen with the CAPd till April (4/9 last cycle and 4/19 for the one before that)!?

People have already received acceptances off the CAPd list, so either people on this forum are lying (which is honestly totally possible), or you have faulty information.

I meant besides the last round of acceptances 🙂

last cycle was 2/16 and 4/9
year before that 2/17 and 4/19

they did accept people earlier this year, I'm just listing the dates here, I got no inside info!

I asked and was told it would be once a month, so we should hear again in early March unless something changes.

Does anyone know: Given that most will be attending without our parents help, and that most of us are broke or in debt already, how often does G-town release the full 80k for loans in financial aid? I tried calling financial aid office earlier but they didnt pick up so I figured I'd give it a shot here.

Do you mean how often is the full COA (the 80k) offered in federal loans?

Yuppers that's the one.

I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure as long as your credit is fine, they'll always give you the full COA in federal loans (the Stafford and Grad Plus or whatever). I believe I was told this at multiple schools. The major differences seem to be whether or not you're awarded any scholarships or grants. But I'm pretty sure as long as everything checks out, you'll be offered the full
COA in loans. Whether or not you take it all is up to you.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about this!

Does anyone know if the committee is meeting today since it's the 2nd Thursday of the month? (we were told that the committee meets every 2nd and 4th Thursdays.)

Yes, I believe they meet today.

👍 No you're right. I even remember a few finaid reps say that people with bad credit are still eligible for federal Stafford and Grad Plus, as long as you submit your FAFSA. To bigBOSS, don't be worried about not being able to afford a school (I guess thats your question?), you will be offered federal loans up to the school's COA. Also, Georgetown may offer you institutional aid such as scholarships/grants/low interest loans. If they do, the difference between the amount of institutional aid you receive and the COA will be offered to you in federal loans. No idea as to how much aid Gtown gives out though, they gave pretty unspecific numbers at my interview.

Thanks guys that helped.

Me too. Do we have any idea what dates they're up to for reviewing? Trying to brace myself for whether to expect something next week or whether it will be another 2 1/2 weeks...

No clue. I interviewed 11/30 and am still waiting.

So I got an email saying my status was updated, but when I sign in the website seems to have reset. It is asking me to submit my secondary again. I'm confused. Anyone else in the same boat?

No I'm on my phone. I'm away for the weekend. I tried calling but they had closed the office. This is very frustrating.

Pre or post interview? It seems like a lot of people have had this problem post-interview and that it usually just takes a couple hours for them to update their system. (if so, mind if I ask when you interviewed?) Just check it again in a few hours. If it's pre- interview, it's probably a rejection, as their IIs come via email.

EDIT: Anyone else get any decisions?

Accepted today! SO excited. Interviewed in early January. HOYA SAXA!!

Omg so jealous - congrats!!!

I really wonder why I haven't gotten a decision yet..... ugh. Pretty much just assuming rejection at this point. 🙁

I wouldn't assume rejection! If they had made a decision they would have told you. Remember how they said 20 people reviewed your application before it went to the committee? My guess would be that your people are just being slow and that as soon as that review process wraps up your decision will be made at the next committee meeting. I interviewed mid-January so am excited about people closer to my interview date getting decisions- hopefully we both get good news after the next meeting!

What is the LATEST INTERVIEW DATE that has received notification of a decision on their file? I interviewed 1/22 and was just told on the phone that it would be another two weeks!

Dang 3 months seems pretty long for Gtown just for a decision. It seems like most people wait about 2, me included. Hopefully no news means good news?

Yeah I honestly have no idea why it's taking so long - I know people from my interview date have already received decisions. :/ Hoping that it's good news! I was told I'd hear this week... so who knows. Maybe tonight!

I'm definitely the exception to their 6-10 week rule, though. 😛

hopefully see some movement on the CAP list this upcoming week?!

cant handle this anymore!!!

Some did say we should see another round of movement in early march so we will see!

When your status changes on the secondary website and when a decision has been made - does a link appear under your application status or does it just say "competitive applicant pool" or "rejected" or whatever without being a hyperlink?

EDIT: I didn't get any emails, but I randomly went to check my status and under my application submitted date it just says in bold "Waitlist". (1) Should I have a link to click that has a letter or something of that sort? (2) I thought it was called the "Competitive Applicant Pool"... is there a difference between them?

mine looks like this:

Decision Status: Available beginning -date-
Your application decision is now available online

where the "your application...." is a link to the decision letter stating I was CAPd!!! I have no idea about CAPd vs. Waitlist either.

Woah! That's way different from what mine says. I wonder if I just checked my status in the middle of them updating the system or something... bizarre. Still no email. Thanks for responding 🙂

Has everyone else's looked the way Ssina's does?

einstein1990, mine also just has the waitlist thing, weird. I wonder if this is correct? I feel like we should have more information

CAPed. That's fine though because I don't think I want to go to Georgetown anyways.

On the website, it says that second look say is Friday, April 11th. But the 11th is a Thursday. Does anyone know when exactly second look day is?

Officially CAPed this morning. Time to write Georgetown a love letter!

You've certainly been waiting a long time for it! I had a mid-feb interview, almost 3 months after yours. I'm hoping to hear soon and not have to wait as long as you!

Does anyone know what percentage of people get CAP'ed vs. straight accepted? I heard almost everyonnee who interviews gets CAP'ed.

Somewhere in last year's thread it was mentioned that they review in batches of 80 applications and do 20-40-20 accept-CAP-reject.
