I looked at flights... holy cow it is expensive! It is cheaper by over $300 (and quicker) for me to fly into Newark, rent a car and then drive for an hour and a half to get there! Otherwise I fly to Newark, fly to Florida and then up to Pennsylvania!

Any other suggestions for travel from Newark to Bethlehem?

Abe is super expensive. I always fly into philly or Newark and drive. Although i rented a car in Newark recently and i ended up paying $200 for 2 days. So it might just be worth it to pay the extra. Although then again you might need a car to get to the med school. Some things to think about i guess!

Ii to temple-st lukes yesterday at 4:58 pm haha.

Damn, that's rough...where are you flying from? Lucky for me I got a 6 hour drive instead 🙂

I am flying from the west coast, Washington in particular.

For some reason my flight from San Francisco to Philly cost twice as my flight from San Francisco to JFK. Lame!

theres a bus from jfk with either transbridge or bieber bus lines but it only goes twice a day and its a big hassle. you could do it and it takes you to downtown bethlehem. if you reallllly want to save the money you could think about it, but i wouldnt really suggest it.

does anyone know how receptive they are to changing the interview dates? i work fulltime and was waiting to schedule it to see which day I could get off and i finally did (there were like 5 spots left yesterday!) and now they are all taken...

Congrats! When were you complete?
Complete 7/30, also for St. Lukes but after I reserved an interview time slot an the website the email that came right after said my interview was in Philadelphia??? I will probably give them a call.

mind stating when you were complete at temple?

I'm not exactly sure. I turned in my secondary 7-25, but My Mcat score didn't come out until 8-15 so I couldn't have been complete before that. I got my II 8-31

How long do interviews last until? If I got a flight at 6:15 can I make it in time? I also got an extra appointment scheduled with the recruitment and retention people so I dont know when that is.

You should be ok. I had a 2pm interview. I was done by 2:30. Airport doesn't take too long to get too. Also if you are short on time take a cab.

I was wondering if anybody knew the percentage of interviewees who are accepted into the program? That would be a wonderful statistic to have, thanks!

50% so around 500

complete since august 10.. anyone else still under review from around that time? or is it time to take the hint???

Complete on 9/26. Just making sure I can stay in the loop. Hoping for some love from Temple.

Lol I've been complete since 7/2, and I even sent an in the area email 🙁 I'm pretty sure they don't like me!

What are some good hotels to stay in that are close, but not TOO close to the school...if you know what I mean.

No matter which direction you go, you're in the hood. Stay around center city and take the subway.

Complete on 8/29. Haven't heard a thing. 24 schools applied to, one interview, one rejection. Thought I would receive more activity by now.

Are Drexel and Jefferson in the same area as Temple?

Thx.

No, temple is north of center city in the hood.

Jefferson and drexel are both in center city.

BUT, Temple to center city is only a 10 minute car ride depending on the time of day.

Drexels medical college is out in the suburbs somewhere. It's a ten minute drive there from Jefferson.

II invite just now!

3.8/3.7/32/IS

No idea when I was complete.

EDIT: Can anyone comment on the parking situation at TUSM? I want to avoid taking SEPTA, because... Well... I hate SEPTA.

Parking garage is right across the street from MERB on the other side of N. Broad St. It wasn't too expensive... I forget exactly, but it was less than $10.

I've been complete for over 3 weeks now. Do they send out rejections early?

Drexel Med isn't in center city, it is in the nicer part of North Philly. The hospital/main campus is in center city, but the medical campus is closer to Temple. This region certainly isn't the suburbs of Philadelphia, unless you define suburbs as "having some grass".

Germantown was always a suburb to me. :-/

Just got an II via the status page! Complete 9/5. So exciting after several rejections.

I interviewed here a few weeks ago. The interviews are very low key. They really don't want you to stress out and they don't try to trip you up with any questions. Just try to relax and be yourself. If I was critical of anything, it would be the format of the student interviews. There wasn't a designated place for the student interviews to take place so we just grabbed a seat in the lobby. It was a little strange, but not really a problem. I really enjoyed my interview day overall. Best of luck! :luck:

I loved the interview here. The only one that I've had so far and I really like the school. The faculty and student were extremely nice. Even on their website, they state that the goal of their interview is the exact opposite of a stress test. It's to get to know the real you. Be yourself and show your uniqueness, you will definitely have a chance to 🙂

Happy 1st post. It has been a long 2 years.

Has anybody been told that they would be scheduled for a RAR meeting in their interview day? I was wondering what this entails and I also never received a confirmation email saying what time it would be. I'm worried it'll be later in the day and I would miss my flight.

Its a meeting/interview with the diversity dean. Send them an email if you don't have a confirmation of the time yet. They will respond with a time within 24 hrs. Its a quick few questions the dean may have for you to better understand you and your application, very low stress like the rest of the day, probably takes less than 20 mins.

Okay awesome thank you so much!

Interviewed here and quite liked it. Classes ending at 12 are a big plus for me. Hospital is right across the street. Overall, the students looked very happy and relaxed.

In case anyone is interested, I talked face-to-face with an admissions person today, and she gave me a rough estimate of last year's numbers:

10,000 applicants
1,000 interviewed
400-500 accepted
210 matriculated

Yes Temple gets MANY applicants. I believe it is consistently in the top 5 for number apps received.

I absolutely love being done at noon most days of the week. It rocks.

Anyone know approximately when early September interviewees should hear some news?
