ii today. shocked because this was the first secondary I turned in around july and needless to say, it was not a good one.. after writing about 20 of them, i finally got a good understanding of how they work.. can't believe it!

for those that have already gotten acceptances (congrats!), on which day of the week did you hear? and was it via email, phone, or status page change? thanks in advance!

Congratulations! What are your stats?

got a II a couple days back, scheduled for early january. anybody know the outlook on january interviews at temple by any chance? thanks!

During my interview last week they said they would definitely get back to those who interviewed before me by Christmas break, and they would try their hardest to fit my group in too since we were around 2 weeks out.

Has anyone who interviewed in mid/late November heard anything yet?

Interviewed mid November at main campus, accepted this week.

Hi, I didn't realize the office would be closed today and I wanted to change my interview date. Does anyone who has access to the interview calender for January know if there are still slots open for Jan 10th or Jan 8th?? Since I've already scheduled my interview, I can't see the calender anymore. Thank you!

No there is nothing available the 22nd

Yea, I scheduled mine for Jan 8th on the site but apparently that day was full and the lady changed my date 🙁

I think it's close to fifty if you count the waitlist. I can check when I get home and edit my post.

Interviewed 12/4. Wait listed via snail mail today. Good luck to everyone continuing to interview! Does anyone know how many students get accepted from the wait list every year?

ok thanks I appreciate it. Does that include people pulled off from the waitlist or all the people on the waitlist?

I am spending $$$ flying around numerous times so I just want to convince myself I have a good shot

Wait listed via snail mail interviewed 10/24. Will be withdrawing soon

Waitlisted here as well. Interviewed on 11/28.

I have had 1 acceptance, 1 rejection, and 4 waitlists so far from my interviews. Is this generally a normal breakdown, or are the waitlists and rejection indicative of poor interviewing skills?

I have never been a good interviewer, but I tried to improve my abilities this cycle, but was wondering if my results are indicative of poor interviewing skills, or may be due to other parts of my application.

They prob already knew which pile they wanted to put you in before your interviews. I still strongly believe that for most people the interview only changes the decision if you do very well in the interview (or bomb it)...but most people will perform ok thus no change.

LizzyM said in the new "ask LizzyM anything" thread that we go into the interviews already on rungs of a ladder, then move up or down depending on performance. So it's likely that on average, the interviews do not really change the final result.

ahh kk thanks for the information. Now I don't know how to feel considering I can't really change my application anymore...

Oh well. I guess it's time to start sending out all those letters of interest and everything.

Hey Guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that I just created a Facebook group for the class of 2017. Search Temple School of Medicine Class of 2017. Looking forward to meeting everyone in August!

does anyone know how temple gives out post-interview decisions? waitlisting happens via snail mail... but what about rejections and acceptances?

interviewed on 11/28, and am anxiously waiting to hear back. thanks in advance!

Any recent interviews? and does anyone know what month interview dates are available now?

I'm in the same position...😕

Rejections, I'm not sure. I think they're emailed. Acceptances definitely come through email. If it's been a while since your interview, most likely it's a waitlist, which is mailed. But this isn't a hard rule. It could be delayed because of the holidays.

Does temple give out pre-interview rejections? Or do they literally just wait until May to start giving out rejections?

If you interviewed at a campus that wasn't the main campus, it takes longer. Also, keep in mind, committee members were probably on an extended holiday vacation, so it might take a little longer for dec/late nov interviewees to hear back.

Thanks! In that case, has anyone who interviewed on 11/28 on main campus gotten a rejection/acceptance via email?

When does temple stop interviewing? Ive been sitting at "under review" since October... :/ I really like this school too. I've sent them two update letters. Does everyone just upload the update letters through the "send us stuff" tab on their website? Or should I directly e-mail admissions office to get their attention? Has anyone ever called and actually received information on their status?

Is the student hosting option recommended? Does anyone have any insight into staying with a host versus a nearby hotel? Too lazy to search through the thread. Thanks!

I'm not sure how nearby to Temple you want to be (it's widely regarded as a commuter school). Personally I stayed at a hotel in center city and took the subway up.

I had a really great experience staying with a student. We got along really well, I got to hear more about the school, she made a wonderful dinner, and she even drove me to/from the interview.

Sounds lovely. Thank you for the info!

I had to make the unfortunate decision to withdraw my acceptance from temple today due to financial reasons. I was really excited ab studying in Bethlehem my hometown! Good luck everyone I hope one of you gets my spot!

Do you have another acceptance I assume? Which is it?

What's second look? Does that just mean when they look at students on the waitlist and review them again?

Temple's second look has been on a Friday in mid to late March the last few years.

Second Look is for accepted students who want to "see" the school again without all the pressures of the interview.

I'll definitely be going in March! Super excited to see the school again.

Yup, what Lafakads said. I really loved Second Look day. They took us on a tour through the Sim Center to various rooms/stations, then we went to Dave and Busters afterwards for food and some gaming.

Oh my sounds like fun. At first I didn't consider Temple before I interviewed, but as I read more and more I'm beginning to like it a lot.

Interview invite after submitting app 8/20/12. How is temple in terms of financial aid?

Has anyone gotten an interview after submitting an update letter? I have submitted two update letters.. but nothing yet :/ .... should I just email admissions to ask if they got the update letters? Or is that a bad idea?

i would do it, because tbh that little update thing is prolly broken, because i submitted a withdraw letter in nov. and i got a II today.

Been at interview complete for over a month now, I thought they were normally pretty quick? Maybe it's because of the holidays though.

put on their continuing candidates list via snail mail, interviewed 11/28. boo.

does anyone know how their aid is? i don't qualify for financial aid, so i'm primarily asking about merit aid.

i've already been accepted to another school that i would prefer if costs were the same- so i'm thinking about withdrawing. but if i get an acceptance AND some money here, it could def sway my decision. thoughts?

thanks in advance!

no offense, but let's be brutally honest...if u were qualified enough to receive a merit scholarship, they would have already accepted you...immediately.
