Has anyone who's interviewed heard back recently?
Has anyone who's interviewed heard back recently?
BOOOO. I fear that will be my fate as well (I kind of messed up on my faculty interview).
For anybody who interviewed on Nov. 5th, do you remember what day they said a decision would be given?
I posted this question in the Keck thread as well but I want to hear from this side--
Keck (USC) vs Irvine. I'm OOS so the tuition difference is not a huge factor for me. So aside from that, what would make you choose one or the other?
First of congrats! Second - I think that you are considered IS after 1 year so I think that the cost will be different for the last 3 years.
Good luck!![]()

rejected just now (post-secondary). Submitted on 11/29. It took them 3 days to reject me so I guess my application is really bad...
GPA 4.00, 33< MCAT < 37. Out of state.
First rejection. Hurts so bad...
Do you guys think I should email them and ask them what is wrong with my application?
You're OOS, so I'm almost positive that is why you got a quick rejection.
Thanks for your input. I just thought if they had screened my primary and sent me the secondary app, they would had gotten over my residency issue. Maybe not...

There is no residency issue. Although it's a state school, it doesn't show institutionally preference for in-state applicants. The only reason why the majority of the matriculating class are in-state residents is the fact that for every 5 in-state applicants, there is only 1 OOS applicant. MSAR reflects a slight skewing, but that's arguably anomalous. This is the policy across the UCs.
You should definitely call Irvine. If it's any consolation, I was rejected 3 weeks after submitting my secondary. I rushed my secondary (late, late applicant) and the quality of the essays showed it.
Good luck!
I always thought it was difficult to gain CA in-state status through education purposes. Like next-to-impossible difficult. I could be very wrong though!
I'm oos, with an "under review" status since 8/24. Is it time to go ahead and cross this school off my list?
Just got the Prime-LC interview invitation. So stoked!
Go to the dinner the night before, the pizza is awesome! As for the interview day, it's very laid back and conversational. Good luck!
Got the call! This has always been my #1 school. Couldn't be happier. Good luck to everybody else.
Congrats! When did you interview?

Just got the call too! 😀
Accepted into the MD program. Also, applied to the PRIME-LC program, they're forwarding the file and said I might hear by Christmas. Such a relief! Good luck to everyone out there still waiting.

Interview Invite 9/9
Interviewed 11/5
oh, then I've met you!
Interviewed the same day. Good to talk to you again! And we're not competing IMO. If it doesn't (significantly) increase your chances by eliminating one 'competitor', it's no longer a competition.
As such, best of luck to you, and I mean it. Would be something if we both end up there. And entirely possible too. 🙂
I assumed as such, but made sure anyways. 🙂I was in no way serious.

Congrats! Do you think you will withdraw from your other acceptances?![]()
