They didn't differentiate, but I'm guessing its need. They called it 'CoM scholarship'.
Ok gotcha! Sorry for all the questions, but my finaid from UF is a huge factor in my decision between schools. So I'm just patiently waiting (and stalking my mail delivery)...

No prob, financial aid is important. Good luck on your decision.

Were these need based or merit based?

From what I understand, they have no/little merit based scholarships. They do not offer full rides to anyone, per Eileen Paris - I emailed her asking this a while back.

Just a random question, does any one know how the would-be first year student get football season tickets for the upcoming season? And how easy is it to get it? Thanks.

I imagine it's with the general student lottery. They're pretty easy to get now since there are no big names on the offensive side of the ball.

since your a grad student, you have priority over undergrads but season tickets still aren't guaranteed---pretty sure all the med students who applied last year got them though----our med school block are usually pretty good seats

my class gets 4 weeks, and ive heard with the new curriculum you get 6 weeks----looking at the calendar of the curriculum posted on accepted website confirms 6 weeks as well...

Can any first years confirm this?

Hey everyone,

I am starting at UF medical school in the fall and am looking for roommate(s) for something pretty low budget (400 or less). I have some places in mind; please message me if interested! 🙂

I have not, nor has anyone else I know. Some people are saying that it won't start until tomorrow, despite the fact that on last year's thread it appeared to begin on the 15th.

Only 1 accepted so far? This is discouraging. Many people were accepted out of the wait list last year, according to the last year's thread.

I know many other on the wait list that are not accepted who do not post on this site. Must be moving slowly. It's not uncommon for folks to get accepted throughout June.

Thank you for the reply. So, are you saying that there are people who were rejected? I thought, you can only get accepted or wait listed after the interview.

Still waiting as well...I got a call from a Gainesville number On May 16 so of course my heart goes racing...turned out to be a telemarketer...lol!

I'm pretty sure he was implying that he knows people who are just silently chilling on the waitlist. I assume the only acceptance he's heard of is Medapplicant89. I haven't heard any news from non-sdn posters either. I'm wondering if this means the majority of the outright accepted folks chose UF or if UF is waiting on something. Maybe someone would venture an email to the admissions office  . Either way, I don't feel like much good is going to come of this situation.

I feel the same. Plus, I am sure that not many accepted applicants are going to turn the UF down. Personally, I never would. But let's hope for the best.
Once accepted after May 15, how much time you have before you let the school know of your decision? If it is 2 weeks, I suppose around May 29-30 definite answers will be coming.

Well I Do Know Of Students Who Turned Down UF. Personally I Loved My Interview Day And Met The Photojournalist John Kaplan So I Was Blown Away. However Some friends Of Mine Felt Like It Was Old And Rundown In terms Of Buildings, So They Went Elsewhere.

Sorry My Phone Feels Like capitalizing Almost Every WorD Today.

You are very smart (and correct). They give 2 weeks to decide. Look out for calls at roughly 2 week intervals. (June 1st or so, June 15th or so, etc.) It'll get less organized as time goes on and they're scrambling to fill lingering spots.

Just got the call from Leila. I never expected this to happen in a million years. UF COM c/o 2017!!!!!!
