It's a rejection. I got the same email in December and got the letter a few days later.
 
Congrats to everyone with additional correspondences! Would you mind sharing when you all interviewed?

Sucks.😡

I think it's probably because I applied as an Indiana resident. I tried making it clear to them that I've spent most of my life in IL, how I have connections to IL, and that I have many family members who are alumni of UofI schools, but I guess it didn't help.
 
Did anyone who was on post-interview hold or whatever get a decision made on them today?

Just call the office next Thursday and ask Gary, the admissions counselor. When I got the status I called and he explained to me just what it was about my application that didn't make the cut.

Sorry buddy,

If I recall, you got accepted to IU, so you're still in a better boat then a lot of other applicants.

Someone said something similar to me when I got rejected from Loyola, and it really did hit me then. Besides, IU will be WAY cheaper for you. I read somewhere on the Big doctor forums that a lot of premeds seem to forget that once school is over, no one will care where you came from, but the bank will still want their money.
 
I also changed from Application is in Process to "a final decision has been made" pre interview....bummer

Hey Einstein, did you get a hold email after last month? Maybe they'll change more statuses later today.

Thanks, you're right, IU will be cheaper. Good luck to all IL residents waiting to hear good news from their state school.
 
Congrats to all those who got the Additional Correspondence tab! So far I haven't heard of anyone who got that and didn't later get the fat packet.

Yeah. It was a little delayed last month because of the holiday, but I imagine they email around the same time they mail the packets.
 
How many have seen ANY movt post-interview hold? Just a few? More?
 
I wonder if all status changes have been made for today/this month...

That is great that you have IU. Congrats on that!

When you received the final decision screen, did it say "additional correspondence" in the upper tab?
 
I am sorry to hear if this is a rejection. Did either of you get an additional correspondence tab? I'm wondering if the tab actually means anything...
 
Sorry, haven't totally mastered replying directly to people's comments. This was also directed at ahutni3.
 
All these status changes in the past few days and I'm still sitting here as "applicant in progress"....frustrated? You could say that...😕

I am as well, but on the bright side, our status didn't change to a rejection, so there's that comfort 😉
 
just checked status online and have the additional correspondence tab too. hope that means good news! 🙂
 
Got the final decision notice pre-interview. Pretty/devastatingly disappointed as my dad went here for med school, I'm in-state, and my stats were well above average. I am not feeling the Illinoise (Sufjan Stevens)... And the Illinois government is still corrupt (Blago)... and I use the UIC tennis courts for free all the time without paying and plan on continuing that... and I'm feeling pretty bitter right now but I'll say something nice below so I'm not a total downer

Pretending their is a sliver of hope that my decision pending could still change. Another month of waiting 🙁

I know exactly how you feel, my friend. I'm still half in denial and hoping that for some reason they just didn't review my application this month and will be seeing it for the first time in Feb. At least it is not a rejection.

Checked my status online and saw that a final decision had been made. So i figure either the final decision is an outright acceptance sans interview or a rejection. Most likely the latter
 
For those that have received CBC emails, how many days did it take to receive the email after the final decision was made? Earlier, it was mentioned that the CBC email arrives a few days later...

CBC emails didn't start going out until a few weeks ago; no one who was accepted before this month got them until recently (so for me... 2.5 months? :laugh:). Your decision packet wont take much longer than a week, at least, so even if the CBC takes a while for some reason, you'll have your confirmation soon. If you have the Additional Correspondence tab I wouldn't worry.
 
Does anyone know if ii's were given via email or snail mail? Pretty sure I'm getting rejected as I read "A final decision was made on your application on 01-28-13. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone." on the check status website link.

I sent in an LOI in case anyone was wondering but good luck to everyone else still waiting. The past two rejections I have received this past week were countered with two interview invites 🙂 so just be patient and stay positive everyone!
 
Hopefully today is the day to receive anything other than a thin envelope in the mail from the mothership! Live in Chicagoland, so if they sent the goods out on Friday, it is possible that we'll start hearing news today. Either way the decision goes, I'll be crying 😉

I have so kindly asked one of my family members to wait by the mail every day and let me know if some thin letter or big packet has arrived lol
 
got an interview for the UMed program...but I'm torn because idk if I will realistically be able to attend UIC because its exorbitant OOS tuition...plus the UMed interview is another in-person affair during the revisit day in April...more $$$ for travel that I don't have 🙁
 
So I know that eventually you'd get a date next to your Additional Correspondence tab. Does anyone know if the date is for when THEY SEND your fat packet or for when THEY RECIEVE your campus preference and deposit?

Neither. Mine still has no date by it and I got my assignment in November.

Does your status have a tab that says "additional correspondence"in the upper right-hand corner? I'm hoping to get an idea of what that might mean given info in past threads...
