Oh yeah, I meant I was in for the meet-up... Sorry about the confusion!

I somehow feel like they meant they are in for the Cameron Village escapade, but I could be wrong.

Anybody with Gettes still waiting to hear?

Maybe the meeting ran really late because they were so busy deciding to admit all of us. They couldn't make the calls when they finished at midnight, so they'll be calling us today.

Hey guys. Decisions were made last night. Someone on my Facebook got in.

Looks like another two weeks

Just wondering if anyone that interviewed with him has been admitted.

anyone know when the bulk of acceptances for UNC go out? There's about 14 people on the FB group...so you guys think about 30 or so have been accepted in total (roughly?)

I would assume more than 30 have been accepted. About 20 have posted in this thread so far, for what it's worth.

The committee has met at least 7 or 8 times, and I would guess they're letting in at least 10/meeting? I don't think it would make much sense for them to all meet if they're moving through fewer apps than that.

Yeah I wouldn't hesitate to say at least 120 have been accepted. I mean a class of 180 so that's ~210-220 offers to fill a class and it's middle January. Would u kind linking the fbook group?

I think that 120 is a little steep for January, unless maybe allowing for OSSers that are the most likely to withdraw acceptances. Probably more around 80-100 is my guess. A lot of people I know at UNC now got accepted in Feb-March so I wouldn't call it a lost cause yet.

I think it's more like 240-250 offers (72-75% yield) to fill the class? And I think 120 could be a reasonable guess as well.

Yeah I kinda based it off of ecu numbers who have accepted 80 and they usually take 100-120. And some other rolling schools that post their admissions data. I'd find it hard to believe that at least half the acceptances haven't been offered When it's been rolling since October.

I'm hoping this is the case this year too. Maybe they start accepting more people when they no longer have to spend most of the day interviewing.

I don't know...Wake's FB page has close to 70+ people. UNC certainly has a higher yield rate vs. Wake, so what explains the discrepancy?

Less FB group visibility and publicity? Less current medical students in the group? It's certainly not an accurate representation of the number of people that have been accepted... it's just a FB group.

I don't really think a Facebook group is a good gauge for how many students the school has accepted, unless it is operated by the school. Tbh I tried searching for the group a while back and couldn't find it.

I totally agree. But hey, i work with data all the time, and i'm a sucker for extrapolations. There might be a VERY loose / plausible correlation 😀

For what it's worth, some current Wake students set up the Facebook group and invited all accepted applicants via email. The UNC group was founded by a student that was accepted this cycle and wasn't technically endorsed by the school, so the only way to find it is to search on Facebook or encounter the link on SDN, which explains the membership discrepancy between the two groups and indicates that this discrepancy probably isn't the result of some major difference in the number of acceptances given out to date.

hey all,

for all those who have gotten in: congrats on all the acceptances; for all those who are still waiting: hang in there! im relatively new to sdn and had a few quick questions.

I'm OOS and just got an email yesterday afternoon from ms. james asking me to call her to schedule an interview (which I will be doing shortly). however, this is the first interview for which i have had to call and schedule -- all others have had some sort of online scheduler. is this how everyone had to schedule there's? i realize its pretty late in the season -- perhaps this is why?

secondly, what's the interview/interview day like? do y'all interview with multiple Adcom members or just a single member, and is it a standard-format interview (30-50min, 1-on-1)? do y'all find out who is interviewing you ahead of time? are questions centered around you and your application, or do they inject some health care trivia/opinion questions?

and finally, could any of you post some OOS #s for UNC (e.g. applied/interviewed/accepted/matriculated) if you have them?

sorry, i know thats a ton of questions, some of which may have already been answered at some point on this thread...thanks a lot for your help/advice!

3695 applied
100 interviewed
23 matriculated (accepted is probably higher than this)

You'll have two 30 min 1-1 interviews and one of them will be with an adcom member.
I think the questions are different for everyone..most of mine were about my application/childhood.

Congrats! Mind sharing your stats/ if you are out of state or instate? thanks!!

his post history says 29, 3.9. First sub-30 acceptance I've seen on here. May be good news for some of you guys who have been waiting a bit!!

thanks k2on3hru! anyone else have any input on the interview?

I feel like the same adcoms keep popping up for acceptances. I haven't seen anyone with mine 🙁

My adcom is "active" and has let a ton of people in, just not me. Hurts every time I see is name.

Sorry, I guess that's actually more painful than what I experience 🙁
I just wish there was some sort of system that required adcoms to take part in meetings regularly. I know they have busy lives, but it seems like students with "active" adcoms have an unfair advantage.
