Just got this.
The committee's file review indicates that they are interested in your candidacy. However, due to the increase in the applicant pool this year, it is clear we MAY be unable to interview all the candidates at your priority score. If we do find that we are unable to grant an interview, you will be notified by e-mail in March.
Is this some new breed of status? Good chances, bad? Or do we not know?
Edit :Haha I had skipped over the previous page somehow. I see what it means (or hypothesized to mean).
I just got the further status. Does anybody know how long after that status change applicants got interviews in past years? Or does that status mean really late interviews ending in waitlist
I hit submit on 07/18/12, not a status update since. They got my LORs on 07/26/2012.
Yo pfaction, did you apply MD/PhD here ? I just wanted to ask whether the MD/PhD section indeed contains only 1 question about the publication. I just want to double-check to make sure my version didn't have any sort of missing error, such as missing the supp essay prompt that had occurred earlier in July.
Just got an interview!! IS 30/3.55. Had the further status before

Congrats on the early interview!
I only have the publication question in addition to the medical secondary. There's also some reference form that we have to turn in as well.
I got one too!! Why didn't I get a congrats 🙁
Haha on a slightly more serious note: do you know anything about fmstat, flodhi? good? bad?
Does anyone know if OOS students at VCU can be considered IS after the first year or two (provided they live in Virginia the whole time)? This would be a major factor in my decision to go here (if I get interviewed and accepted of course). Congratulations to the people who have received interviews!
Thank you. So it seems my online supplemental app works fine now.
Regarding to the reference form, the writer needs to send it to the MD/PhD Office address, not the Admissions Office right ?
No, OOS students pay OOS for 4 years sorry. It's not impossible to transition but very hard and rarely happens.
IS COST OF ATTENDANCE for M1, M2, M3 and M4 $55,453, $57,276 , $62,718, $ 58,103 respectively. For OOS COA is 15k higher. It's $ 70,411 , $ 72,234 , $ 77,676 , $ 73,336. Cost of attendance for OOS is approximately 60 k higher excluding factors such as interest, flights back home etc..
Hello. I just received an interview invite to VCU! I was wondering if anyone is doing the Inova Campus tour? I am from northern VA and have done a lot of volunteering at Inova Fairfax hospital. Do you think that it will make a difference to my chances if I go to the Inova Campus tour?

Does the "we have reservations" status mean rejection??

does VCU hand out their IS interviews first? I had the MAY status.
When were you complete?
The pre-matriculation program is very beneficial. I guarantee you that most of our incoming class will feel traumatized the first couple weeks by the overwhelming material thrown at them. The pre-mat program well does that to you so you're used to the pressure during the regular year, you've taken quizzes and exams (know the format/structure). It also helped me with adjusting to the new environment including Richmond. The professors are very nice, you will meet Dr. Krieg soon who will be our Anatomy professor. He's very knowledgable and challenges the students by randomly asking them questions. Biochemistry professor is different from the regular year due to whatever reason. The pop med instructor is a pHD that I think will also be teaching during the regular year. Everyone is very supportive but you really need that in such a vigorous academic environment. Your best friends will be Mrs. Jackson and Dr. WHC, they will provide you with wonderful resources. The students are helpful, study together and no one is cut throat.
Hey pal, how does Gross Anatomy resemble/differ from undergraduate Human Anatomy and Physiology?
Do your letter of recommendations need to be submitted to receive a secondary from VCU/MCV?
