If we were complete mid-August and got no interview invite..is this a silent rejection?

From what I understand, no. For whatever reason, they may not have "prioritized" your application, but that isn't a rejection. This is my second year applying so I've dealt with the waiting game before.

I've been complete since late August myself. I'm applying for the second time. Hoping for good news. Congratulations to everyone who has received II's up to this point?

Hang in there. I am a reapplicant who did not interview last time and I got one this time. Just cuz you haven't heard back yet doesn't mean you've been rejected. I believe they do send out rejections early though which I personally prefer so they don't give you false hope.

I submitted Sept 10, and received an email Sept 12 saying pending MCAT scores (which should be received within max 10 business days). Is it normal that I'm still not complete?

For those of you who have already interviewed, is the admissions staff receptive to OOS students bringing their luggage with them?

When I interviewed, the admissions office let me keep my luggage in the back of the room where the applicants waited between presentations/interviews. It shouldn't be an issue.

Hey I'm from DC and Ill reiterate with most others on this thread that Metro to Georgetown is not the best idea but if you are taking it then use the website below to check for outages.

DC Metro Alerts

For those coming in during the week you should be mostly fine, those staying on the weekends especially at night should keep a close eye on it (I had to sleep at a friends place this weekend because the redline was only one way and closed early, which prompted this post)

Good luck to everyone interviewing!!!

Also the shutdown shouldn't affect the metro and some of the monuments you can just walk past the barricades 🙂 Hope it ends soon though so that those visiting can get the full experience.

Edit: Adding a tip for those cabbing to bring cash or use Uber. DC cabs should mostly take cards but some can be old school and stingy and will only accept cash. Uber is also a great app where you can hail cabs and pay directly through it with a credit card.

Uber's great - used it in Philadelphia for the first time for an interview. They give you an ETA for your cab and you can track your driver on the map. Prices are a bit higher compared to cabs, but there's added security of knowing you can actually arrange a ride, especially if you're staying a bit off of a main thorough-way with limited access to cabs/public transit. Definitely check online/twitter for promo codes - got a $25 credit through a Philadelphia promotion. Also if you have a friend with Uber you can use their registration code to sign up and you both get a $10 credit. Mine's 37dqe if you don't know anyone!

Rejected via status change. Complete mid August.

I thought they sent emails for rejections

I thought they sent emails for rejections

also rejected via status change, never received an email, so im sure a rush of people are going to be checking their statuses now

EDIT: I was complete 8/6

Ahh I see. For now, I'm safe, but I was complete later than ya'll.

I don't get it, ya'll have good stats. What are they looking for?

How did ya'll feel about your secondaries?

Just checked my status too. Rejection ... Did not expect one so quickly from here ...

Can anyone give me advice on how to get from Union Station to Georgetown? Thank you in advance : )

Just checked my status (was holding my breath the whole time... GU is probably my first choice!!) and it still just says STATUS: SUBMITTED. Does this mean they haven't gotten to me yet? Or do they have some sort of an invisible hold? I was complete 9/18

question answered
Honestly, why would that be what you think? Obviously they're sending out rejections. If they've rejected people who were complete later than you, don't you think that means positive things for your application?

Were any of the recent rejections for dual MD and master's degrees? Or just MD?

First rejection... bummer. I was complete 9/10. Stats: 42/3.5

this is my second rejection TODAY.. way to kill the day for me :annoyed: 32/3.75 - i knew I am not exactly at an advantage here, but still had hope

Sorry to hear for those who were rejected today-do you mind sharing when you were complete?

Rejected today as well. First rejection 🙁 Complete 9/8. LizzyM = 72

Rejected. Total bummer. I really felt like I was a good fit for Georgetown. I kinda wonder if me sending an "in the area email" messed up my chances. Idk.

Sorry to hear about the rest of you who were rejected.

Rejected here via status change. Complete mid-August. Back to back rejections from both here and Brown. Weeeeee gotta love this process, such a self-esteem boost!

Rejected by Georgetown just now. At least they were courteous enough to let me know this early instead of giving me false hope.

Rejected here as well - this is the first one I got that really stung. Good luck to everyone who is still in the running, you just survived a wave!
