Did anyone else pay by mailing in a check? It's been a little over a week, how long will it take for them to mark the fee as "submitted"?
 
Anyone out there not get a secondary that made it past that point last year? I'm getting a little impatient and worried that I might not get one this year. Could they really be that inconsistent?
 
Anyone else not getting secondaries? This is the only one I'm waiting for. Have gotten all of the rest

Just got a secondary. Is UCSD as limiting with who they give secondaries as UCSF?

Edit:

Found old data that said in 2008 they gave out 1992 secondaries and interviewed 678 applicants...not bad
 
secondary received today 🙂

Im so exhausted from writing essays for these secondaries! haha But this is definitely a top choice as I live nearby and have always admired this institution. so Im going to work hard on it!
 
I just want to confirm something for you working on, or have completed, the secondary application.
What are we supposed to select in the "waiver statement" section about the letters of rec.?

Usually what is expected is you waive your rights to see them, so you lose your access to them. If not, theyll think you have seen your LORs before they did.

Hey everyone,

Received this secondary today and I have a few questions!

1) For the meaningful activities, if we plan on continuing them until matriculation, what date do we put? Is it the same as AMCAS (ie. end date of August 2014)?

2) Do they waive secondary fees for FAP recipients? I didn't see anything on the Payment Information section.

Yet another batch goes out and I didn't get one, but I did receive UCSF's today so that's awesome. Come on San Diego, you're killin' me!

They did last year. The payment info should just be blank and it will let you submit without paying.

Submitted secondary on 7/22.

All we know is that he or she told SDN of the invitation on Saturday. For all we know, the invitation was received on Friday but reported later.

I bascially did 1 paragraph on mother, 1 paragraph on father, 1 paragraph where I grew up, 1 paragraph elementary + high school, 1 paragraph college, and 1 paragraph gap year. I only used about 4500 characters.
 
Still no secondary....verified on 7/24. Got an e-mail for the social security number and then one follow up e-mail but that's it.

Yeah, I've been having the same issue. Glad to know it isn't just me...

I got an II here. For my essay I made sure to always keep the theme of how my experiences throughout these phases contributed to diversity of experience and my specific passions for the kind of medicine I want to do. Good luck!

+1 I was wait listed last year, greatly improved my application, and still no secondary. I think they are taking their time.

I just got a secondary invite from UCSD. I'm OOS so I'm pretty happy that I got this and UCSF's secondary. Now just waiting on UCLA

Haha I have UCSD and UCLA secondaries, but I'm waiting on UCSF >.<

This autobiography is killer though, since I covered almost everything in my primary app and I dont want to repeat myself
 
Got a secondary invite this morning, glad I passed the screen despite my MCAT! 🙂

I've been sitting on the autobiographical sketch for about a week now though. It's a lot of fun to map out my life story, but it's also killing me :laugh:
 
Finally received the secondary. Only waited forever and a half to get it. Better late than never I suppose.
 
Anyone else get the secondary invitation today? I got mine but when I log onto the applicant status page it doesn't have a link or anything

The link shows up for me now. took ~10 mins for it to show up tho
 
I know its pretty early (and hello TooFoolforCool--witness to another freak out question haha) but should I be worried if I was verified on Tuesday and have yet to hear any acknowledgement from UCSD as to receiving my application? How long has this been taking for folks?

i received acknowledgement email of receipt of primary app the same day

Finally got this secondary. Thank Jesus I already wrote this one last year. Just gonna touch it up and I'll be good to go. This school is still a long shot for me, but hoping for the best!

Is it just me or I feel like barely any II's have gone out so far? Comparing to past threads, I don't see large batches of II's coming out yet?
