Congrats! You're in for a great day 🙂interview invite Scheduled on Feb 7th!!
I would do aaaanything for an II from REL, but I wooooont do THAT. No I wont do THAT.
I was wondering the same thing. OOS applicant but will be moving with my family to Central Florida after graduation so I will be IS then. EFI since September. UCF is, was and has always been my first choice but I am beginning to think I will not get an II. Very disappointing :/ Congratulations to all who have been accepted---you will certainly help with the shortage of physicians in Florida.Anybody know how many more interview groups there will be? Been EFI forever.... keeping my fingers crossed!!
Remember that florida requires a year of living/working outside of school to get IS tuitionI was wondering the same thing. Honestly, I would happily pay out of state tuition for all four years if accepted!Remember that florida requires a year of living/working outside of school to get IS tuition

When did you go Aorta?II today. Very excited. UCF would pretty much be as perfect of acceptance as it can get for me.
When did you go Aorta?
So, getting an interview this late I'm wondering if they are still accepting right out of the interview pool or just keeping the wait list filled up? Is it too late to hope for an acceptance post interview?

UCF has a fairly transparent system. After your interview the committee votes on you and you get a score. That puts you on a ranked list of interviewed applicants. Also at the time the committee votes on the applicants, they decide how many offers are going to be made that week. Then they go to the top of the list and admit those people.
So at no point are you interviewing specifically for the waitlist. You are interviewing for a spot on the overall list and where you fall will determine whether or not you get a call right away or are told you are waitlisted. Many people are accepted off the waitlist.
Thanks for the info. Is the score based solely on your interviews or your file at large?

Ok I say we send an email saying that we both should get an interview?!? Sound good? After you give MrsHopeful a call, perhaps you can send some love my way too! ;-)
Got your back (Lazy Sunday morning!).

Do u guys ever wonder out of the 1000's of applicants what do they really look for? How do they determine?
I honestly believe they look at each individual and theirs ECs/essays over stats because I have average if not below average stats 3.67/30 OOS and I was not only interviewed but also accepted. I don't think stats matter as much to them as finding people that will fit well into their program and can offer differing perspectives and experiences that they can share with their classmates enhancing the overall diversity. Sorry my own little rant but UCF really made me feel like they chose me personally and didn't just pick an app out of the pile. Where as most schools haven't given me the time of day due to my stats UCF looked beyond that and viewed my application in its entirety and I'm so grateful 🙂 Just one of the many reasons I believe I will matriculate here!! 🙂
I was a reapplicant and was EFI last year but never got the call. However, I did have a 27 MCAT and applied late last year so not sure it was enough to make their threshold to interview especially as an OOS. This year I was EFI within 2 weeks and an interview call about 2 weeks after that.Hmm I wonder then... Was anyone a replicant who was accepted

UCF has no preference as far as wanting people who will pursue academics, healthcare policy, undeserved populations, global or public health, etc. What they want (it seems) is for their students to pursue what they're most passionate about so they end up having the greatest impact. The FIRE project (required research project) is designed such that it can be focused on any of those aforementioned things. They seem to value all types of research including but not limited to things like laboratory bench-top research, behavioral science research, epidemiology, public health, etc. Basically, if you have a faculty member to mentor you, you can "research" almost anything you want. What about your experiences do you believe helped you? Is UCF more interested in people who want to be and have shown interest in becoming clinicians or researchers/academics?

Congratulations! That's awesome.Got the news that I was accepted here. Very exciting! This school has a lot of pull considering the open-minded atmosphere, wonderful facilities, and relatively cheap tuition and scholarships. Last year I had no acceptances, while this year year I have multiple acceptances, and all immediate - no wait lists. Now, the difficult part is choosing. For those of you hanging on a wait list at the bottom of your rope, be sure to try again if you don't make it this year. It's the pits, but you'll get there! Minor differences in your application may make a big difference - so can perseverance. Good luck!
