Does anyone from previous years know if there is substantial wait list movement after May 15th?Unfortunately, the waitlist at UF doesn't move until on or after May 15.

I've posted about this somewhere previously (may be this year or last year's thread) and I looked at the numbers closely, but this time I'll do the math quickly so I may be a little off... about 220 acceptance offered, about 350 interviewed, and about 120 spots (and I don't think they over accept early in the season). With 220 offers and 120 spots, it looks like about 100 offers come from the wait list (not necessarily 100 students, because some that get called decide to go elsewhere). 350 interviews - 120 initial acceptances = 230 on the wait list. 100 from the wait list divided by 230 left on the wait list = about 43% of the wait list ultimately offered and acceptance.Does anyone from previous years know if there is substantial wait list movement after May 15th?

Not all schools. Wake Forest does something very similar! That's very interesting, I though all schools offered more acceptances than they had capacity for anticipating that many would not matriculate. Seems strange that UF would intentionally under enroll their class.
My previous post suggested that UF does not under enroll their class - they enroll it to capacity. Then, after everyone accepted makes an absoultely final decision (I say this because the deadline passes on May 15 and they cannot go back), UF will start to pull from the wait list. What if they over enrolled and had a class that was too big? That's happened at some programs, and they end up having to differ some students and give them a scholarship. That's very interesting, I though all schools offered more acceptances than they had capacity for anticipating that many would not matriculate. I have a friend who just got an interview invite and she submitted in mid-December. Hope that alleviates some of your worries! 🙂Does anyone know of any people who have gotten interviews after submitting their secondaries late? I wasn't able to submit until Jan 10th.
They will not disclose this.Anyone know if they will disclose your waitlist position after we're ranked in April?
I was wondering the same thing. How likely is it for someone to come off the waitlist?
Hi all, just wondering for those who have interviewed and flew in/out- is it safe to book a flight directly after the interview day? I know the day is supposed to end around 4:30 and I'm looking at a flight for 8pm at GNV. I'm wondering if this is enough time in between to hail a cab and get to the airport based on how on schedule the day is and how busy the airport is w/ traffic/distance. Thanks! Better safe than sorry 🙂
Just a reminder that there are medical students lurking, so if you all have questions, please let us know!
Hey there, I would really love to get an idea of the class set up for the first two years! I've seen the catalog online but am not quite sure around when certain classes would start and end, when we have breaks (if any), etc. Thank you for any clarification 🙂

Also there is a bus that goes from campus to the air port. Google RTS (our transit system).Hi all, just wondering for those who have interviewed and flew in/out- is it safe to book a flight directly after the interview day? Coming from New York you may be disappointed LOL. We have one gay club, and a couple straight clubs that are gay friendly. The majority of gay people are here to go to UF ( we have 50,000 students) which can be a positive or negative, depending on your point of view. As far as on campus representation we have a gay organization called Pride Student Union (they are mostly undergrads), and we have an Office of LGBT affairs which is in the office of diversity.I also have a question for current students - do any of you know (or know someone who would know) the lgbt representation within the class and what the lgbt scene is like outside of class? I'm 95% sure I'm going to UF but I'm coming from NYC, which is thriving with gay culture, so this is the only thing I'm nervous about. Thanks a bunch!
(ETA: I asked during my interview but both of my tour guides were straight so they had no idea)
Congrats!! Where did you sent it to?? Through the application or email?
Got an interview today!!!!!! She said the last two dates for interviews are March 7 and March 14. She asked which one I would prefer, so I assume they are not full yet. She also spoke to an organization that I belong to yesterday, she said at this point the admission committee is only sending her a few interview requests at a time, instead of the mass invites she does at the beginning of the cycle.
Okay last consecutive post from me, I promise.
Do we know if the class is already full or if they're still offering acceptances? I ask because I'm interviewing on the second-to-last date and I get the feeling that best case scenario at this point is being waitlisted... Any ideas?
Dr. Lynch (Assistant Dean of Admissions) specifically told us in an interview (I interviewed in Jan) that they have available seats even at the last interview. In fact, a lot of current students I talked to were accepted after interviewing quite late in the season. So do not worry and enjoy your day! 🙂Okay last consecutive post from me, I promise.

If you work or study at UF and have access to the health science center VPN connection, you can log onto their website and see what they do each day right down to specific seminars. Reply to me if you fit that description and I'll guide you through the process.
