Interviewed Dec 11th, got the Additional Correspondence tab/final decision reached message today
 
What's going on with the December adcom meeting decisions? I'm still 'decision pending' and it's worrying me out of my mind. Looking at last year's thread it seems that people whose decision didn't change the meeting after they interviewed very rarely get changed from this status... :/ ugh.
 
Hello beautiful people! I couldn't find any information in the thread so far, but I'm sorry in advanced if it's been asked. To those of you who have interviewed, can you tell us the interview day a bit? Do you stay in the same building the whole day?

EDIT: I'll be interviewing in Chicago! Forgot that detail 😛

Some of the details depend on where you interview 🙂 do you know where you are assigned?

Also, everyone awaiting final decision correspondence -- I called admissions this morning and they had just gotten back from vacation. Apparently they probably won't be sending out mail until next week when more people get back.
 
Has anyone from the first batch of acceptances in late Oct/early Nov received their site choice yet?

They did say 2 weeks from when the card was due (Mine was due 12/20, I think). So probably next week, assuming the holidays caused a delay. So nervous!

So those receiving additional correspondence on 12/20 haven't had mail sent out yet? 🙁

hmm ok, well I haven't even received the option to choose which site yet. I've tried contacting admissions, but no one has returned my calls yet. I'm getting a little anxious.
 
Interview at Chicago campus on the 7th, eep. Any tips or stories or experiences from the people who already interviewed at the Chicago campus?
 
Is there a way to review the secondary? I just want to look over it before the interview but can't seem to figure out how to get to it. Anyone?

I didn't have this guy, but there was one interviewer who gave the applicants a sheet of paper with seven questions, each about a paragraph long. He didn't talk to the applicants, they just read the questions then said their answer while he took notes.
 
Once you scheduled the interview with the admissions office via phone, do they send you a confirmation email or packet? I talked to the admissions officer on 12/12/13 to schedule my interview... and I have had no further correspondence. I'm suppose to interview at the Chicago campus and I tried to look online but the interview information website page isn't working... Totally lost...

I'm also curious about this. I interviewed at the end of November and haven't heard anything, though my status is still "decision pending."
 
Yeah, UIC is closed. They also cancelled interviews for tomorrow. They're gonna reschedule them of course!

How did you find out they cancelled the interviews? Did they send an email or something?

They emailed me. Here's what it said:

"Dear College of Medicine Applicants,

Due to the severe weather conditions the University of Illinois is closed today and may also be closed tomorrow. For this reason, we have cancelled your scheduled interview and will contact you to reschedule. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please feel free to contact the Admissions office if any questions."

I didn't get an email and I"m scheduled for tomorrow, can you check if your interview date has changed or if there is a message on the status page? also were you scheduled for the morning or afternoon interview?

Nevermind I found the email. Thanks for the update! I would have gone there and freaked out. haha. But any idea when they may reschedule us for?

Oh good! I just had a minor freak out for you!! Eeek!! And I don't know when they'll reschedule them for. Hopefully they'll contact us tomorrow if the office is open. I hope it's soon!
 
any mail yet for those with additional correspondence status change on 12/20?
 
For those who have gotten IIs, the consensus is that you were Applicant In Process for a while before it came?
 
Any tips on what to wear for someone from S. CA interviewing in January? Can the button up shirt be traded for a warmer wool sweater?

I haven't gotten the CBC email yet either and was in the first acceptance batch.
 
Was initially scheduled to interview on January 7th, interviews got cancelled due to weather and now am rescheduled for January 29th. I was already nervous about the 7th being late in the game and now its the 29th oh my luck. Anyone else got rescheduled?
 
Has anyone received any letters of acceptance for the students who had additional correspondence on 12/20. Or does anyone know if they even sent the letters out yet?
 
So I'm assuming the cancelled interviews will/have delayed new II
 
Called admissions and they said they anticipate sending out the decisions from 12/20 "sometime this week." So I'm assuming they still haven't mailed them out or else they would have told me so...

Hi all! I just got an interview invite and decided to browse this thread prior to choosing a date. I didn't realize, however, that OOS tuition was so exorbitantly high. I'm currently sitting on 3 IS acceptances, waiting on word from another IS interview, and I have 2 other OOS interviews pending.
My question to everyone (student/applicant, IS/OOS) is, is it worth scheduling an interview at UIC given the latter?
