can any current female students comments on white coat size? According to the size chart I'm an XS, but I'm pretty sure I've never worn an XS in my life, so I'm a bit skeptical. However, I'm a little worried that if I order up I'll be swimming in a Small. I know it's a petty problem, but I don't want to look weird in the white coat pictures 🙄😀

In the FB group, someone asked about it and a current student said the coats are pretty big so they suggested getting the smaller size if torn between two.

If I remember correctly, they also said you have a chance to change sizes. (Don't quote me on this part though!)

In addition to the free white coat you receive in August, student council has a white coat sale during the fall semester where you can purchase several extras and try on sizes. M1's generally only need one coat, but when you're in the hospital every day it's good to have a few extras -- so, if you don't get the size right at the beginning, there are opportunities to get more coats!

That is good to know! 🙂 Thank you!!

Ugh, is anyone else here applying for that summer program and currently bummed out about not finding out for another week? Some of us need to know whether we need a couple days off work 🙁 What does that even mean "due to the number of applications"? What are we talking about 50? 100? 170?

</grumble>

Are you talking about that surgery thing?

Is there going to be any redispursement of merit scholarship aid for those that didn't accept the award, or have those funds already been reallocated?

Maybe they are getting reallocated to those who are "incentivized" to defer enrollment per the email we got last week. Second year in a row they overenrolled?? U of Michigan is better than it thought!! GO BLUE.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about those funds possibly being used for incentivized deferrals, we'll see. The financial aid fact sheet PDF claims that last year almost half of student body got a merit scholarship averaging $17282 - that's in spite of their overenrollement. If those numbers are correct, that's some pretty insane scholarship money spread out among a lot of people.

IIRC, that "scholarship" average of $17282 across >50% of students includes all forms of scholarship, including need-based. It's a bit misleading in that way.

Soo anyone else hoping they will offer some defferals this week?
