Silence, my favorite.
I know! This is so anxiety-provoking! With people being rejected left and right (on here and people I know who have applied), we should be happy that we haven't gotten the axe yet. But... there is an ominous feeling in the air.... However, I am trying so hard to stay positive and hold on to the hope of a wait list spot!

Did most of the rejected people you know receive interviews?

"survive and advance"

It truly is March Madness

Yes, they did. I know of about 3 people that interviewed and were rejected. Then there were a few that were interviewed and posted on here this past Monday night.

From the email "You will be notified of your status by April"- Are we thinking this means before April or just sometime during April?

I think we will be notified in April. I had two friends wait listed last year and they both found out on April 3rd. They both actually ended up getting in off the wait list. One found out in June and the other found out in July.

Will waitlist notification be via email? Does anyone know how many people will be on the waitlist? I mean we can't all be on there, but I can't help but feel like if they were gonna reject us, they would have by now.

Yes waitlist notification is via email. I looked back at last year's thread and a lot of people were rejected via email on the same day that wait list emails went out. That being said, it looks like there have been more rejections throughout the cycle this year than last year. So.... Maybe they have less rejections left to give out at this point than they did last year?? Who knows? But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

Eep, okay, and the day that happened according to last year was April 3 if I'm not mistaken? It was a wednesday, so maybe this wednesday we'll all get some sort of update? I'm hoping so....

There hasn't been enough rejections and still lots of people waiting to hear back, so I'm guessing there's still tons of rejections waiting for us on Wednesday. Hoping for a waitlist though...

I had the same issue of still being under applicant status, but that got cleared up. Now, I am able to sign into Connect Carolina, but not email. I know that at some point, they are going to start emailing the school account about financial aid etc. I just don't want to miss anything important.

When you say you "cleared up" being under applicant status, do you mean you talked to someone and they changed your status? It's been a week and my PID still says it isn't qualified for an ONYEN account.

I had to call in and have it changed. I can't remember if it was someone in admissions or someone at 962-HELP that actually was able to get it set up. I think ITS knows that there was an issue getting the last batch of accepted students set up for ONYENs, so maybe you can give them a call.

I would try again today. I called ITS (962-HELP) and they helped me get my ONYEN squared away. I didn't need to call admissions. I was in the last batch admitted, so they must have finally gotten the status changes through.

However, does anyone understand Randee's instructions on setting up our med school emails? I'm very confused.

Nope, been trying to figure it out but i'm not seeing anywhere for us to setup our emails.

Okay so the instructions we were given was wrong apparently IT told me to goto selfservice.unc.edu and there is a link there that has "email setup"

I did that earlier, and it set up a live.unc.edu address for me, not the med.unc.edu address. I opened a ticket with ITS, and it looks like it has been forwarded to the hospital IT.

Do ya'll think they'll be making acceptances today or is the general consensus that there are only wait list and rejections awaiting us later this week?

It did the same thing for me they said it was because I was still only listed as "accepted" and not admitted even though i have an onyen so not sure whats going on with that. I have the correct email address now according to connectcarolina i just don't know how to access the account lol

I concur. They are on a delayed schedule by a couple weeks because of the rescheduled interview dates (snow issues).
I wonder if this means final waitlist and rejection notifications will go out later than usual?

Doubt it. The timeline has been pretty consistent with last year. I think there's a few spots open from the people who withdrew, but I think they're only going to use the waitlist applicants to fill those spots.

I do sometimes wonder what I'm going to do with all my free time once I dont have to check StudentDoctor every ten minutes

I used to check every Monday obsessively and even on off weeks because I forgot to not obsess.

Please. me check this webpage even when me shower.
*squint* I see what you did there, SDN. Happy April Fool's Day. (Go back and read all the posts, and you will see what I mean.)

I know the e-mail suggested that we would know something by April, but didn't someone on the thread suggest that the office had said mid-April??

Last year on Wednesday, April 3rd people got notified of wait list decisions.... I wonder if today will be the day???🤔
