Anyone complete in late August and still not heard back?

I was complete on 08/26. I'm hoping I some how managed to slip through the cracks and they're thinking about interviewing me haha

Yup, complete 8/25. Utter silence.

Wait listed. Interviewed early/mid September. I remember on interview day they said that they separate waitlistees into a pile that wrote letters and a pile that didn't. Can anyone clarify if they're looking for letters of interest (like the status says) or letters of intent?

Any recent IIs? Georgetown was one of the last schools where I was complete (early-mid September). Still hoping for some love!

Complete 9/2 and still nothing. I'm thinking no news isn't too bad for us since i've seen people complete after me have been rejected.

Best of luck!

Does anyone remember exactly what we're supposed to send in to remain in consideration on the waitlist? I seem to recall a request for a 5 paragraph essay, but I'm not sure if that's correct...

Don't make it longer than 2 pages (1.5 spacing). I can't imagine anyone would want to read something that long. As for the 5 paragraph format, that is not necessary. This is a letter, not an essay. Although some people might say those can be seen as the same thing I guess.

If I remember correctly on interview day they said ~1 page / 3 paragraphs.

Rejected pre-interview last friday. Complete early-ish September. 3.9+ c/sGPA, MCAT >36.
Good luck to everyone else.

Does anyone know if Georgetown will immediately reject people post-interview? Or do you either get accepted or put on the waitlist (and then officially rejected later on).

When you get rejected do they tell you via email that you have a status change? Or do you need to check on your own? What about for IIs?

From the complete email: "Please note that Committee review can take up to ten weeks. You will be notified of the decision as soon as it is released via e-mail and within the Secondary Application system. Thank you for your patience."

I have the same question, does anyone happen to know?

Last year there were rejections directly after interviews, but I haven't seen any this year yet.

From last year's experience, Georgetown will either reject, accept, or place an applicant on a waitlist following an interview. If waitlisted, an applicant will be accepted or rejected once the waitlist dies (i.e., first day of classes). Please realize the caveat and the possibility of Georgetown changing their admissions operations THIS year.

Hope this helps.

Wondering the same thing. Does the II show up on email or you go to the portal yo see?

Rejected. Ouch. 3.7 gpa 37 mcat. Rejected from Tulane and Georgetown and no interview invites. Complete at 20 schools at the beginning of September. Am I screwed?

Similar stats. And no IIs yet either. Not sure if we are screwed yet lol

Well to put it this way....If you're screwed, I'm considerably more screwed. So don't be screwed, keep the faith.

Damn! Rejected today. Complete 9/2. Best of luck, ya'll.

Rejected pre-II today. 🙁

I called the admissions office and they said most likely I was rejected because there was not an alumni interviewer available in the area. Not sure how true this is, but it is what they told me. I would have flown to the interviewer Georgetown!

Most schools are just about starting to get to their sept apps. It's been like 2 months. Chill.

Not really sure what that means because everyone goes to campus for the interview day. Are you sure you didnt call the undergraduate admissions office?

+1, I remember applying to Gtown for undergraduate and they set me up with a alumni in the region

Does anyone know if they accept application updates before they've come to an interview decision? I submitted at the end of august and still haven't heard, and have some cool stuff i've been doing in the meantime i think would help with my app. i don't know if sending in an email now would delay review of my file...

Rejected last week. Complete 9/5. cGP3.4 sGPA3.4 MCAT 37. Gtown SMP alum. Work at their Medical School. Sigh.

For anyone who has interviewed how was the vibe? Also is it hard to find the initial meeting location at the start of the day? Trying to see how much time I should give myself prior to arrival.

Complete 8/21 and still nothing! They said allow up to 10 weeks to hear a decision but my 10 weeks was up on 10/30! Anyone else in the same boat? Should I call?

In terms of the vibe, I had good experiences with the admissions staff and my interviewer. All were very friendly and informative. The talk with Mrs. Sullivan can be a little intense, but should give you a really, really good idea of whether Georgetown is the right fit for you.
The initial meeting location was only a little tricky to find (I walked from the Gtown hotel). But I asked some random people I walked past for directions and they were helpful, so I ended up arriving pretty early. The "breakfast" was basically granola bars and water bottles and lunch is a little late, so I recommend eating before you come if you're a breakfast person!

Awesome, thank you for the info!

Anyone know what the earliest date was for acceptance off the wait-list?

Hey everyone!

I am a loooong time lurker here and interviewed at Georgetown in late September...been wait listed 🙁
GU is my absolute first choice, so pretty bummed. Anyway, I emailed admissions asking when they begin reviewing wait list applications/LOIs and I got the following response,

"The wait list is reviewed once accepted applicants begin to withdraw their acceptances and matriculate to other medical schools. As a result, there is no official timeline as to when acceptances are offered from the wait list, resulting in the suggestion to limit updates to once per month."

Hope this helps someone at least and good luck everyone!

Interviewed early October. Has anyone heard from GU with an answer with a similar interview date?

If you don't mind me asking, when did you find out about being waitlisted? and was it just via e-mail? I interviewed mid-late September as well and am anxiously waiting!

Good luck!

Hey there,

I received an email on (10/24) informing me of a status change and the decision was on the secondary portal. I assumed they released the decisions for all September interviewees at the same time. Hope this helps!

I interviewed late september as well! havent heard anything yet

Just interviewed here yesterday. They told us ~ 6-8 weeks for a decision. Not sure if that applies to your guys' interview date though.

Great, thanks for sharing! I vaguely remember them saying about that same timeline. I interviewed about 7 weeks ago, so hopefully soon
