2014-2015 Mayo Medical School Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Check my MDapps but I'm pretty sure it was only a day between request and complete status.

Same here. The delay is probably due to the influx of apps. Just be patient everyone, I'm sure we'll all hear from them soon enough.

So we're all thinking 2-2:30am CT tonight for first II's?

Haha. All the talk about the legendary middle of the night Mayo emails hasn't materialized for me. All my emails have been at the mundane 8:00 A.M. or 5:00 P.M.

I would happily take a 2:00 A.M. II, though😉

Ditto, I get the ones at 8:00am

Can confirm. I received my fee request at 1:43am. Of course I proceeded to get out of bed to pay it then too

If only we have the 10:10(am) Tuesday and 3:33 (pm) Friday like the way that UMich was doing last cycle.

My wildest email times were 6 am or 8 pm🙂

O.M.G. There's an email in my inbox from Mayo... 😱

Wait, wait, no, nevermind. This is an interview invitation to complete an online survey, for which I would be compensated a free jar of mayonnaise. Who gets spam about mayonnaise??? (must have some spyware that's picking up on my Google searches)

Sorry for the false alarm.

😛

2:30am rejection email last night. Good luck to everyone else!

I'm sorry. Although plenty plenty people go on to have amazing cycle with early rejections. Good luck!

Haha it was kind of a ****ty thing to wake up to but I knew Mayo was a pipe dream for me anyways. Pre LOR.

Pre, 3.8 SMP GPA, 38MCAT but low uGPA.

Thanks!
Agree with @Friendly_female_house , keep your head up! We can't win them all! Also with this crazy process, it could've just as easily been anyone else as you with similar numbers. #whoknowswhathappensintheblackbox

what does te email say exactly?

In the Subject line it states: Mayo Medical School - Not selected

Dear Mayo Medical School Applicant,

Thank you for your application and interest in Mayo Medical School. The medical school admissions committee has recently concluded a thorough review of a large number of applications received from interested individuals. The committee was very impressed with the high quality of the applicant pool. However, we have received many more competitive applications than we can recommend for an interview and/or a position at Mayo Medical School for 2015. We believe that this reflects the depth and quality of the applicant pool and the accompanying intensity of the competition for the number of positions in our medical school.

Unfortunately, your application was not among those selected for further review. We appreciate your serious interest in Mayo Medical School as well as the time and effort you have devoted to preparing your application.

We wish you well in your future pursuits and offer you our best wishes for success in your career. Once again, thank you for your interest in Mayo Medical School.

Sincerely,

Susan A. Romanski, M.D.
Chair, Admissions Comm

How soon after the LOR request did you all get a "LORs received" email?

Does everyone get a secondary or only the those that LORs are requested?

Aaaaaand the week after that 😛
