The two prompts sound the same to me, am I wrong? First ask what makes you unique, and second asks how your uniqueness can contribute?

Yeah they definitely feel more similar than last years prompts. I had pre-written but probably going to have to tweak a bit. A little confused about how to approach them to be honest!

I personally am treating the second one like a diversity prompt, and the first one more about why Mayo / what I want my career to look like
Actually this makes sense. I re-read the prompts and what you said and I think this is how they want us to answer it. Thank you!

As a 2025M applicant, I thought I would hop on and mention that Mayo has a lot of very helpful "med-fluencers" that are medical students of all years as well as residents. Some that I have messaged with over the years are:

@evolvingmedic (ortho resident)
@nick.baumel (M3 or M4?)
@the_catholic_med_student (Incoming M1?)
@medstudentsdoingthings (M3?)

There are plenty more as well. I do not know any of them personally so do not message me asking me to get them to answer you 😆, these are just the ones I know of and have talked to at times. Like all people, they vary in how active they are on their pages and if they answer DMs depending on how life is going.

Hope this is helpful to someone on here! Have a great day!

I submitted my primary on the day it opened and was verified on 5/28. I'm an IS applicant, but have not heard back from Mayo. On older forums, others mentioned that there is a 508 cutoff, which my score is above. Is all hope lost for receiving a secondary at this point, considering that I was one of the first few applicants to be verified?

I was verified early June and haven't gotten a secondary. I think they're just sending in batches or something, I wouldn't worry about it.

I wish they'd at least send e-mails that they received our primary from AMCAS
