I'm not 100% sure (schools are starting to get jumbled in my head) but I seem to remember him saying that there was some waitlist movement and it was dependent on which applicants declined their offer. Unranked, but if there was a niche a declining applicant would have filled, someone on the waitlist from that niche might be offered their spot.
 
For people who submitted a letter of interest/ update letter. Did you send an email or mail an actual letter? If you send an email, did you attach a word file or just typed it straight on the message? Thank you! and congrats to the amazing people who got already accepted ! 😀

1. Northwestern doesn't have paper applicant files so send an email. Otherwise they have to scan it.
2. Put the text in the email (not an attachment) to make it more accessible.

I forgot to ask... what would you type under subject? straightforward 'letter of intent'? or something more like 'dear adcom'

Applicant Update. Probably better than letter of intent because if you call it a letter of intent it loses some of its sincerity. Dear adcom is unprofessional.

I apologize if this has been asked already, but does anyone know when second look Is this year? I live abroad so it requires extra planning for me. Thanks! Congrats to everyone who got interviews recently. You will have a wonderful day, I'm sure.

A bit earlier in the thread, a current student said they sent an email stating that Second look is Thursday March 26th and Friday March 27th this year.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I'm mainly curious. I've done a good job reinterpreting my deferral as a probably-rejection, so it's surprising (and nice) to see that I do have a chance still, especially if there happens to be waitlist movement.
 
So, I was accepted to Northwestern in mid/late October, and I haven't really heard a peep from them since. I confirmed my acceptance online and everything, though I never got a letter in the mail (does Northwestern not send letters? Kinda a bummer, I'd like to have a hard copy 😛). I haven't heard anything from them about financial aid deadlines (though there are some on their website, they're just from last cycle I believe?) or about second look weekend... Has anyone else had correspondence with Feinberg post-acceptance?

Congrats on your acceptance. I haven't been accepted (deferred) but I recently got an email from them about various things going on at the school. Maybe you should check your spam folder because a lot of northwestern' emails tend to go to spam.

And for current students, does Northwestern ever send any type of packet or anything? I really would like some type of hard copy indicating that I've been accepted here...Not for like official records anything, but because I'm just super excited about it 🙂

same, but they did update the fin aid deadlines. Rumored here that the second look is march 26-27.
 
Received an interview invite yesterday! 3 dates left, last one 2/11.

Is it just the opportunity to interview for the waitlist now or worth it?

But, agreed. Or if you're in your dream school already and Northwestern isn't high up there, you could turn them down and maybe free up a space for one of the rest of us waiting in the wings! 😉
 
Second look invitation was sent out today after months of silence. Ts March 26-27. Any one have advice on how to manage two schools with same second look weekend? Stuck between two and having a hard time choosing

Jk I called the admissions office this morning (and they were super helpful). I was using Chrome, and apparently that was the issue. So if you're having problems with registering, try using internet explorer or firefox.

Have any of you started looking at places to live in Chicago? I have been leaning towards living within walking distance of the school.

Mine were fairly relaxed. Some interviewers asked more direct questions, others it was a conversation, but nothing tricky.

Same, at least for the first year, but it will depend on where my SO gets a job. I really like the area just north of the school and it might be a bit more affordable than right in Streeterville.

Neither were that bad for me, it was fun to feel like you were working with the other applicant to make both of you look good.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. My "group" interview was essentially just me and the other interviewee making friends with each other while the student sat back and smiled over the whole thing. Just remember: that interview is all about assessing if you can play nice in the sandbox with others, imo.

How were the interview questions, similar to the ones on the sun interview feedback page?

I've been doing some causal searching, just to get an idea about price points/what's out there..but I'm also leaning towards living within walking distance (even though it's kind of expensive 😵)

Same. I'm going to have to wait on some financial aid stuff to figure out exactly what I can afford/make a final school choice. But I've been browsing Chicago apartments quite a bit lately :whistle:...

Does anyone know what the time frame would be to start seriously looking? For example, I live in a decent sized city now but the area I live in (around a few colleges) 98% of leases run June to June and the housing rush to sign leases for this June is pretty much over already. I need a pet friendly place/have some weird things I'm a little picky about so I'm thinking I should be on the sooner rather than later side of trying to lock something in.

It is pretty expensive 🙁 McClurg Court has a free first months rent special, so that knocks the monthly price down about 8%, it's also one of the more affordable ones, and just south of campus. I need to go check it out during second look for sure.

The feinberg housing webpage says they allocate $1200 a month for housing, in your cost of attendance. It's never too early to start looking, but I would say have a short list by second look weekend so you can tour some units!

I stayed at McClurg Court for my interview, it was pretty nice.

I saw that, thanks!! I also wasn't finding very much within that price range in the area. I think it's more a matter of playing with my own budget to see what I could make work. And then not looking at anything more expensive. Made that mistake one too many times. Definitely working on a list for second look (assuming I can get an exam moved 😡)!
 
While we are on the subject of housing, anyone have advice about when we should start the roommate search? This is my first time doing this whole med school thing so I have many questions 😉

An hour into seriously looking I started seeing studios where they divide the bedroom a little bit (forget what they called them. Convertibles?) for like $1400-$1500 and being like "well, that seems reasonable". That's when I knew it was time to take a break.

It's probably cheaper if you split a multiple bedroom unit.
