I was working on my secondary and was a little confused about the Chem portion of inputting classes.

My undergrad school was a quarter system but the UCI app says to use the semester hours listed on the AMCAS app. So for one quarter class, it listed it as 4 credit hours./(semester hours?) on the AMCAS app.

The UCI secondary app has 10 spots in the Chem section so I listed
Gchem A, Gchem B, Gchem C
Ochem A, Ochem B, Ochem C
Gchem Lab B, Gchem Lab C
Biochem

It says to include one year of lab classes but I need one more space to do that (3 quarters = 1 year and I listed the quarters with the semester hours).

I may be over-thinking this, but could someone help me? Thanks for your help!

Anyone from the 9/15 interview date remember what Dr. Peterson said about decisions? I vaguely remember end of October but am not sure if she meant that we would hear back at that time or before then...

I assume if you interviewed a month ago you'd get it around 10/15...

Hmmm... I was there the first day (late August) and she said "around Halloween." I don't know if they have a better idea of their admissions timeline now, but I'm not holding my breath for an Oct 15th release.

At any rate, when the decisions come out this thread will explode. And now we must sit and wait.... (Good luck to everyone awaiting interviews or post-interview decisions! ).

That's a LizzyM score which is 10 * GPA + MCAT score. A person with 3.5 GPA and 35 MCAT has a LizzyM score of 70.

Nope, nothing yet. She did say at our interview that we wouldn't know until very late October or early November, so hang in there!

I'm certain the last few dates in mid-March/April are for WL spots only. I interviewed the last time around then and was told 0 spots available. Here's hoping an interview comes sooner.

I was also too excited to focus, but I am relatively sure she said we had to log onto our portal and follow the instructions on there. My admissions status hasn't changed yet so maybe once it does, those next steps will become more clear.

I think she said the time-sensitive item was to accept/decline your seat in the class, which will need to be done within two weeks from the acceptance letter. My portal doesn't say anything either... nor would I expect UCI to be uploading info on the weekend.

Big shoutout to Dr. Peterson for making these calls on a Saturday! Congrats to all those who got their acceptances and best of luck to those waiting. 😀

I would relax. I think they just take a long time to come out. They did interview like 40 people per group. I'm sure Dr. Peterson just doesn't have time to call each and every person in one day. Still super early.

Thanks! I was starting to think that I was silently rejected haha. I hope this gives hope to others who have been waiting since being complete in late July/early August. My stats are 36 and ~3.75 sGPA/cGPA.

At my interview someone asked about this, and they said that anyone on alternate list should wait until spring and then send letter of intent if still interested.

The waiting is cool. The rejection (or the promise of one) is what is killing me. I'll wait until the day of first classes to hear as long as the news is good.
