Got an email today saying I received a "Hold for interview". They said that they will reconsider my application before January to make the final decision on whether or not they want to interview me. Bad news: it is not an II. Good news: It is not a rejection either. Just more of the same game: WAITING 🙄

They said by the end of the business day, I think, so it can be at any point from now to 4-5pm PST. How nerve-wracking.

AW YISS. Acceptance email from Mr. Zeglen. Huge thank you to UCSD... I have a strong feeling I will either matriculate here and/or have UCSD in my final decisions. 😍 Can't wait to see some of you guys at second look!

Glad I didn't end up botching the MMI. Interviewed less than two weeks ago, so it was relatively short wait.

Good luck to those waiting and congrats to the recent acceptances! The support in this thread has been invaluable.

Sigh, wait-listed as well 🙁. Hoiehaie you were in the same group as me, if I remember right. Hopefully we get off it, but I'm not holding out too much hope. Thank god I have other acceptances out of state - this will most likely end up as my goodbye to California, oh well.

Although rejections are, by definition, the worst outcome, I find that waitlists have attached to them a certain cruelty: hope. They string you and many others along for months and months ultimately to reject you (most likely) or accept you after putting you through the grinder.

Yeah, I agree - I'm just going to mentally compartmentalize it as a rejection for now, since we won't hear back anything more until May. I'd go crazy if I tried to anxiously wait for news that long...
