I'm all the way across the country too! I want this package!! So excited !

Is there a facebook group we can join for those who have been accepted for the class of 2019? So excited to be going here!

Has anyone been rejected ? Or they do silent rejections ?

So does anyone know anything about the silent rejection? I've been complete since September and am a fairly competitive OOS having been accepted to 2 other schools so far. But still haven't heard anything, and there's only a few weeks left. Is there still a shot at an interview or go ahead and start planning my life?

I would honestly call admissions. I know when I interviewed 2 weeks ago they said there were only a few more Friday interview dates.

For all schools no invite by the first week of March means move on with your life !!

I know someone who got waitlisted... When we interviewed they told us we'd either be accepted or waitlisted, not rejected?

UFCOM interviews a select few during their cycle and all interviewees who are not immediately accepted are utilized to generate their WL.

I was accepted this year and I applied last year; they do not do silent rejections and I received an email last year with my rejection in April (just an FYI if anyone was wondering).

Applying in September and getting rejected in April by mass rejection is Silent rejection !!!

Spoke with someone from admissions today, it seems that this Friday will be the last interview day for this cycle. But there is a possibility that they could add 1-2 more days.

Interesting...I'm almost certain that next Friday (March 6th) is their last scheduled interview day.

OOS Lurker here, I have heard nothing since my app was complete in August. Any news on when the last interview dates are?

another app $$s down the drain :3. oh well!

Officially got the email saying interviews were over, rejected! Congrats to all of the accepted applicants!

Anyone have a rundown of questions asked during the interview?

Still haven't received anything on the Financial Aid front - is anyone else in the same boat?

I'm going to fsu com but financial aid should be the same across schools and our system says it won't be released until later this week.

USF has already released financial aid though, and apparently financial aid info was given out to people who went to second look 🙁

Give it until Friday or else call the financial aid office. That's what I plan on doing. At second look at fsu they told us to wait two weeks, and our second look was last week.

anyone have any information about waitlist movement?

Current UF COM student here. Let me know if you have any questions about the new curriculum or UF COM/Gainesville in general.. I'd be happy to share my perspectives and experiences...no personal questions tho please (stats, gender, sexual orientation, etc...); I'd like to remain anon. so I can be completely honest with you all.

What percentage of med students also do basic/clinical research during first and second year, and does the curriculum allow time for that? Thank you!

I'm not sure of the exact % but I'd guess that at least half (probably more) of the class does some kind of research. There is an MSRP program where you can pick an existing project or find one of your own to work on. You submit some paperwork and they give you ~$2000 over the summer after 1st year to work on it (this is our only summer off). You have to write a follow-up summary and present a poster in the spring of 2nd year to fulfill your obligation to MSRP... The projects range from bench research in Gainesville to health equity research abroad... and you have a good deal of leeway with how much work/time/energy you want to put into it as well... its super diverse. There isn't special time off given for people doing MSRP but there is typically 1 afternoon/week that they give everyone off for study time/ discovery pathways/ working on research... the bulk of the project is done during the summer after 1st yr which everyone has off.
