2014-2015 University of Michigan Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I downloaded the UMICH Secondary App, but it is not loading correctly. Is that an issue with my phone, or are other applicants also having this issue.

I don't think the app works with iOS 8

Hey all, so I interviewed at Michigan on 10/3 and I am not sure if we will hear back on October 15th or not. Any ideas?😍Go Blue!

You won't hear back until November 15th I believe. They already met on September 24th to make all the decisions which are released October 15th.

Sept 26 hear oct 15 too! Our decision was on oct 8th.

Oct 8th. On which day I frequently faced the northwest and stared into the sky.

From the west coast so it's tonight at 9pm for me. Time can't pass by any slower...

That email about the Twitter chat: "Just a few hours until Class #169 receives their first offers…"
"What burning questions do you have?"
Well...there is but one question that's been burning me...

"Well, UMMS, since you mention it, I've got a minor one..."

I dont think itll be as late as Nov 15 because this is what their website says (under "timeline")

"SEPTEMBER: Interviews begin, typically continuing until the end of February.

OCTOBER: At midnight on October 15, the first round of admitted students is notified. We have a rolling admissions policy, so after this date students will be notified of their status within one week of their interviews."

Im getting so excited/antsy for my oct 31 interview..and even more so for the week after when i find out!

good luck to everyone tonight, but regardless of what happens stay positive!! my fingers are crossed for you

Love this on the twitter chat

"Would a red suit jacket be inappropriate for the interview?#gobluemed"
"Most suits are dark and red is Ohio state colors. Enough said #gobluemed"

A girl I interviewed with who went to Ohio State said she CAN'T really apply to UMich because she CAN'T not wear her Ohio State sweats. This tweets made me understand the gist of what she said.

M1 @ U of M here!
Straight from @UMichMedAdmiss across the room from me: After Oct 15th, admissions offers are sent out the 15th of each month afterwards. Within a week after your interview is a very old policy... If you have a link for where that info is posted, let me know? I'll have it corrected.

The admission office seems to be staying up late on this "Admit Eve" with us. Giving lots of credits to their dedication of making this process so transparent and exciting.

Anyone know if it will be email or status update? Last year, it looks they got an email...

Good luck to everyone, by the way! 🙂

Don't they send acceptances to Michigan students first? Was that not a tradition?

Will they send emails for WLs as well or just for acceptances? Freaking out here!

I think I recall them saying we will get our decisions - Accepted, Wait-Listed, or Denied - between 12:01 AM and 12:06 AM.

My breathing rhythm goes along with the frequency that the portal and my email refreshes.

Why are they doing this? I thought it was 12:01 ahhh why why why

Someone I interviewed with got her acceptance letter in person!

Just saw that. Michigan make me the happiest premed ever please now that is all k thanks.

At this time, all of tonight's admissions offers have been sent via email. No status changes until tomorrow AM. #michmed169 #gobluemed
So no email means?

Apparently they've sent all the emails 🙁 Anyone get one?

Nothing here either. We can't all be waitlisted, right?

Nothing here...maybe they submitted the email list to the server and the server then send them out in a slight delay??? I mean, consider the rate of acceptance, there should be at least a couple ones here on SDN.

No email so we are all waitlisted?

Nothing here. Something's fishy if nobody on SDN has gotten an email! 😛

Well at least I know I'm in good company 🙂
