Anyone not receive a complete email or secondary from UNC yet?

AMCAS verified on 7/17
New MCAT scores released 9/9
Me! Got the "we got your AMCAS" email on 8/28 and that's about it. I'm a third time reapplicant. Brought my MCAT up. Did more clinical, volunteering, all that jazz. So idk. Hope it works out. How are other reapplicants out there looking?!?

First time IS applicant here. I submitted my app within the past couple of weeks and haven't received a secondary yet. I'm getting a bit nervous! :X. How'd your retake go?

O it went. Bumped it up 2 points so we'll see if that's enough to sneak in for an interview.

First time IS'ers get a lot of interview love from UNC so keep your hopes up on them. Also, keep an eye on your spam folder for their emails. I can personally attest along with some other SDN posters that their correspondence has a special knack for catching spam filters. GL!

Congrats on the improvements! It seems that UNC and Brody, in particular, are two schools where reapplication status/persistence actually counts for something (from the Brody website: "A large number of these individuals re-apply at some point, and an ample percentage of each entering class (usually 40-50%) is composed of people who were previously rejected.") Although I don't have an exact statistic, each UNC class is also comprised of a large % of reapplicants.

Re-app IS here - Secondary received/submitted 8/14. No word back since, not even a residency check (but do they even send those out for IS applicants? I applied last cycle and haven't relocated). Any insight from anybody on that?

Anyways, fingers crossed - brought my cgpa up .1 and mcat up 2 since last year. fingers crossed and GL to all of you! Would be awesome to go back to the alma mater.

I never received a request for residency info either this cycle. I wonder if they kept our information from last year on-file.

Good luck this cycle! I hope this cycle brings us all some good news!

IS reapp interview invite! Complete 2 days after secondary was received, primary verified on first day (June 1st?)

Could anyone schedule an interview before december?

Re-app II here too!! I guess when it rains, it pours. The earliest date I could pick was 12/3, so that's when I'll be there.

Best of luck to anyone waiting to hear back!

Congrats, everyone! Glad to see we're getting some re-app love.

I may have scheduled one of the last days in November. Sorry about that.

II here as well! See you on the 3rd 🙂

no oos love here. complete since end of july. :-/

Congrats on the IIs! At least I know they're looking at apps, then. C'mon UNC, shoot that secondary my way!

So I hate to be the guy to ask this question, but do re-apps who interview have a generally higher shot this time around of getting some better news?

Got my reapp II yesterday as well. Congrats to y'all! The earliest opening (at least when I checked today) was in January.

I've heard, at least for IS, we do have somewhat of an advantage if we get the II - they typically don't give out II's as frequently so if you got one as a reapp I heard it shows that they like what you've done since your last application. Hopefully that turns into good news for all of us!

Submitted secondary yesterday. 3.7/32, IS, Non-Trad, 1st time applicant
Sorry if it may have been addressed previously, but does anyone have any thoughts on how long after submitting one might typically get an interview invite? I feel like I am so late in the game right now.

Hey friend, "II" doesn't mean secondary. II means "Interview Invite."

Oops...my bad, then submitted secondary yesterday!
No worries, common mistake. As for your original question, there is no time table for one when can receive an interview unfortunately. I submitted super early and have not heard back from this fabulous school. We just have to be patient. I hope you get some love here. Good luck!

If you don't mind me asking, when did you submit our primary AMCAS app to UNC? I'm just trying to gauge how long it usually takes in between submitting the primary app and receiving a secondary. Thanks!

My primary was submitted mid August, but was put on hold until they received my latest MCAT score which wasn't released until 9/9, received secondary on 9/19

Interviewed last week. Assuming people on this thread are interested, you sit in a room with the other applicants while current med students stop by and answer questions. The interview coordinator gives you some information about the process, who you'll interview with (there's a big pool of interviewers, some are students) and you go on a brief tour of the campus. My first interview was with the head of the admissions board. My second interview was with a cardiologist. Both interviews lasted 35-45 minutes. Neither interviewer wanted to go deep into my research or application, but rather asked big picture questions like "what was the clinical importance of your research", "where do you see yourself in 15 years", etc. I was out by 3.

Any movement from UNC recently? Still waiting to hear back about an IS secondary...the wait is torturous (submitted first week of September).

Does anyone know when UNC starts releasing admissions decisions? I think they told us on interview day, but I can't remember exactly, though for some reason I have the feeling that they said it was a couple days after October 15.

I hope it's no later than that because I'm getting tired of waiting!

hey guys would you know of scheduling an interview in december confers a significant advantage as opposed to january? im out of state and the slots are so few! if i schedule at the end of this year i'll have to do back to back interview days and i'll be pretty rushed but i wanted to know if you guys think the earlier date is better. can't wait to meet some of you!

Are they booking just OOS interviews into December / January, or all interviews...do you know by chance? @manofmen

All interviews, I'm IS and the earliest openings were the second week of December when I scheduled mine several weeks ago.

Any idea how long they interview for? The wait for an IS secondary is tough.

I accidently deleted the interview email. Where and what time are we supposed to show up on interview day. Thanks!

Got my first rejection e-mail from UNC :/ They didn't even bother to send me a secondary. But that's probably at least partly due to my MCAT being pretty late, and only a 30. I have interviews at 2 schools, so at least some schools think I'm worth talking to. 🙂

Bummer about UNC, but awesome that you have two other IIs! 🙂 Are you IS or OOS?

submitted my app here late august and still no secondary...starting to give up hope :\

would it come off as pushy if i were to email them and ask about my app and whether i should expect a secondary?

IS or OOS? I imagine it can't hurt to contact them as long as you're nice about it. They understand that this process is crazy for us.

Currently OOS doing a post-bacc but I'm from NC which is why I'm feeling a little disheartened lol. I'll try emailing them, thank you for the encouragement!

Does anyone know when most OOS secondary invites usually go out?
