For those who've received phone interviews, did your status on the portal change when invited or was it only through email?

Darn. I thought I can stop checking the portal and just check my inbox instead lol. Was it shortly before the email invite came in? A few days?

And did it just say phone interview offered under holistic review completed?

They sent me an email about 2 hours after my portal changed. I know because both were time-stamped XD. Do yourself a favor and wait for the email, took me 2+ months from review completed to my invite. Good luck!
 
Just under three weeks and I haven't seen any other 10/31 campus interviews posts - come on, lurkers! I'm getting impatient and want to know people haha

What Heplayer92 said - plus, you can't do anything until they send you the scheduling email for the phone interview anyway, which comes after the email notifying you that you got a phone interview invitation. I say stick to your email at this point too and relax a bit (if that's possible in our world) 🙂

+1 to what he said, my holistic review took over a month so there is no correlation at all! Just wait for the email or check once every few days 🙂
 
I completed my secondary essays on 10/8 but still havn't recieved the online interview email. Is this normal or does it seem like an error in the system?
 
II just now!!! This was the email I got, which prompted me to check my portal where I saw I got it 😀

Probably just around the corner then! 😀 It took me a long time to have my holistic review started and completed (My app was probably done in late July) so the timeline is different for everyone. Sending good vibes your way 🙂
 
II today! Stoked but a little worried as midterms are coming up and I've already missed classes for other interviews. For those of you who have already interviewed or are about to, where did you fly in to and where did you stay?
 
On site II here as well! Really excited about this one!

Congrats!!!
I flew to Detroit (DTW) rented a car there and drove to Kalamazoo. It is a nice ~2hours drive. I liked having a car there because the day before my interview I was able to explore the city a bit. I stayed at the Red roof Inn by western michigan university. Nice clean hotel, and about 10 minutes from the med school. There is no traffic in the city and plenty of areas to park around the school.

Rejected today :/ holistic review complete 9/4. IS lizzy M only 65/66. Best of luck to the rest of you!
 
Anyone know if it's possible to access your secondary after you submit it. I sent mine like a month or two ago and I want to look back at what I wrote...
 
Alternate-listed this afternoon. Pretty disappointing because I really enjoyed my interview day and I thought both the MMI and the traditional interview went well. I guess it wasn't meant to be, Kalamazoo... Interviewed on 10/3.

To echo Captain Toad, the inaugural class includes folks who were waitlisted and folks from every interview day (including a large number from the later interview days). SO keep your collective chins up.

Good luck also to those who received rejections. I know they're hard (I got some myself last year!) but keep at it.

As always if anybody has questions about the school, feel free to ask (many current students read this forum including myself and CaptToad)
 
Has anyone that did a phone interview in the last two weeks received an onsite II? Really hoping for some love from Western!
 
I completed my phone interview around the 1st-2nd week of October and still haven't heard anything back - maybe we are in a different batch than the recently released ones.
 
Recently had my phone interview. For anyone who has one coming up, don't stress about it! Really, just talk natural - it's all about you and your personality; nothing you can study for. Mine took about an hour.

C'mon, WMU, show me some love! Really excited about this school.

Last time it was a couple of weeks between onsite ii batches. I'd love for it to be next week but just keep that in mind to mentally prepare yourselves☺
 
Did anyone do their phone interview in October and receive an on-campus II?
