2015-2016 Temple University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For those placed on CCL, what does your status say on your portal?

Wow, CONGRATS!!
Did you send in any updates while on the CCL? I was planning on sending some soon but I guess I better get on that!

Followed up with one of my interviewers is all. I called about the status of my application at one point and was told that they were very receptive to updates, but never sent one in.

Has anyone gotten off the CCL for St. Luke's or is this all for main campus?

For people who were accepted and who applied to be in Philly for all 4 years...how do we know if we were accepted into our top choice program?

I'm sure this has been covered, but I can't find it. Can someone explain the interview format at the main campus? The website says it's 1 faculty interview and 1 interview with a Temple physician, but someone else told me it's MMI as of this year, and someone else said there was a student interview. Which is right?

It's kind of all the above, although I'm not sure if you'll have a student interviewer or not (can't recall if anybody on my day did ... I didn't)

You have the two, 30 minute interviews. One with a faculty, one with a Temple physician. One will be open file, the other is closed file.
Then there is a Clinical Skills activity that is modeled after an MMI, but I can't really give you much more than that because we signed an NDA. This is cliche, but really just be yourself in that part and you'll be fine!

I don't think they're doing student interviews this year (the physician interview is supposed to replace that)

Been CCL'd since November, any ideas on how to proceed? I don't have any significant extra-curicular updates...would it be too forthright to call the admissions office directly and ask about my status?

Your official letter that comes in the mail will specify main campus or St. Luke's (although at this point, you can safely assume it's whichever campus you interviewed at). Clinical campus assignments (Geisinger or main campus) weren't sent until the summer last year.

Just in case anyone is interested, the only interviews I saw available on the portal were March 16th and 18th. Good luck to everyone and congrats to everyone already accepted!

They might have changed that this year, my letter says I'll be on main campus.

Acceptance Letter said:
...This acceptance is for the Temple and affiliates clinical campus. You will have the opportunity to experience your year 4 electives at Temple or at any of our clinical campus or affiliate sites...

Thanks.

Does anyone know how flexible they are with interview scheduling. The site says they are currently scheduling through the 18th of March, but the 16th is the latest date available. Can I wait for them to start scheduling later or do I have to call? I just can't make it to Philly in 11 days unfortunately.

Could be. Now that I think about it, there was some re-shuffling going on last year due to the last-minute removal of one of the old clinical campuses from the roster.

CCL letter this week. Interviewed early January. Anyone know if temple has done any post-interview rejections? The "congrats on getting placed on the CCL" at the end of the letter makes me think they do, but I haven't seen any posts on here.

Other options are living on Temple undergrad campus, which would cut down on the commute or the Temple podiatry housing (in Chinatown) where you would hop on the Express (Spur) to get to school.
Hi GrassBladeRunnee! I am just wondering, when did you start looking for housing? Was it as soon as you knew you were going or was it later in the spring semester? Also, how did you find and pick a place?

Do you know what your status was on the portal, by any chance? Mine says "interview complete" and I haven't received any news... Unless Temple does silent rejections...

It still says "interview complete"

Does anyone remember what the secondary app asks about a criminal record? I have a summary offense on my record (less than a misdemeanor/felony) and I plan on applying next year so I'm trying to plan ahead. Does it just ask for misdemeanors and felonies or does it ask for all criminal charges/convictions? Thanks!

Doesn't ask anything about criminal record.

Can someone tell me what exactly the 'Interview activities' on Wednesday in Philly following Tuesday interviews entail? and what the dress code is? Im interviewing at St. Lukes soon and am curious. Thanks!

Are they done giving out II's here..when was the last interview date?

We just had a tour of the Philly campus and had lunch with 2nd year students. I joined the Philly interviewees after they finished their interviews. Other than that, nothing really happened. I imagine you can dress in whatever you want, but since you will be touring with people in interview attire I guess you might want to put on the same clothes.

Rejected pre-II by email just now.
when were you complete?

edit: I probably just got rejected too. I just got a correspondence sent update status (which was actually under review when I checked earlier)

August 7, but I think we are way past the point that completion dates matter.
I know. I was just holding out hope because I haven't received a single interview. I thought I would ask.

Congrats to you though, it seems you've already been accepted elsewhere, that's great!

Status changed to correspondence sent. I expect I'll get it soon.

Not rejected yet. Based on recent history, I'll now get my hopes up only for them to be crushed in another month.

Sorry everyone! I know some people may be worried about getting "beach ready" (someone told me that recently... We have no beaches in 100 miles), but this is a time for ice cream and cake.
