Rejected (Tucson), OOS, no ties to state. Overall 1 II, 5 rej, tons remaining.

513MCAT (11,10,14,10), 3.97 masters gpa, lower ugpa, secondary materials received 8/14.

yea, honestly, doing is just a long an unnecessarily drawn out passive aggressive rejection. if we're not selected, that should be a rejection, unless they are really re-reviewing apps, which often times doesn't happen at schools. Usually applicants are reviewed, assigned a numerical rank as a combination of mcat, gpa, ECs, and other factors, and they just go down the list for interview invites. That's less rereview and more, "we are interviewing students around your numerical rank".

it would just be helpful to know if we have a shot. like I do not think it is unreasonable for them to tell us "you are on high priority re-review" or "you may be re-reviewed, but due to the volume of applications, it is somewhat unlikely" like the least they can do is elaborate a bit!
 
Rejected today from Tucson via email. Pre interview. Submitted secondary on August 4. LizzyM of 68 and from CA and no ties to the state. Good luck to everyone!
 
Well, this is confusing. Got an email from both UA-Phoenix and UA-Tucson within 30 minutes of each other. Phoenix said "sorry man, better luck elsewhere" and Tucson said "not right now but maybe soon." OOS who doesn't know too much about their respective processes, anybody gotten that email from Tucson? Is it essentially a rejection? Below average applicant in stats, above average applicant in ECs.

Got the same email that previous posters got today, no interview but no rejection. Guess I'm on hold 🙁 Doesn't seem like a lot of people get off the hold list though... Maybe we'll be lucky!
 
I got a rejection from Phoenix yesterday but nothing from Tucson. Completed same day (8/17). Hoping no news is good news in terms of Tucson! *goes to obsessively check portal*

This email is a pre interview hold. You guys are definitely not rejected! I got this same email and 4 days later I got an interview invite. So keep up the faith 🙂
 
If their interview process is anything like last year, many pre-interview hold people will get an interview. I was put on hold and then granted an interview like a week later. Then post-interview, you may receive something like "We haven't accepted you yet, but you're still being considered." If they say they're still considering you, they still are. I interviewed very early in the cycle and was accepted very late in the cycle. Though, if they are actually rejecting people already, they may have changed their process.

Hi all, I also got the pre-interview hold email today also and I am wondering whether Tucson is receptive to any update like a new publication. Does anyone know? I would really appreciate the help.

When I visited Tucson for the interview, the admissions office informed me that they don't accept updates unless it's for something such as a grade for a prerequisite course only. You can definitely call admissions and confirm though.... They've always been super helpful and supportive!
 
Just had my interview here, and it was interesting. I liked the scenarios, but felt like I bombed three of them. Well, we'll see how things go. They said the earliest we would probably hear from them is a month and a half. I'm just praying and hoping...

To my interview group they said only update accepted was a new letter from an activity you have been doing since submitting your AMCAS
 
I am an out-of-state student, and my application has been complete on 9/5.
----Where will it tell me my status? Because as of right now, I don't see anything that says 'in review' or 'processing' or anything like that.
----Does this school do 'silent rejections'? Or after how long do you think that I have no chance?
----Any OOS have experience (with stats please) of the longest they had to wait for an interview invite after that change?

Keep faith Mr. Dogg!! I interviewed back at the beginning of October and the admissions staff talked a little about their processes and the fact that they will interview for spots going into March. Since they haven't outright rejected you, then you're still being considered for an interview. Also keep in mind that it's still relatively early in the interviewing process. I submitted my secondaries back in July and still haven't heard from 7-8 schools. Keep those hopes high!
 
Anyone received the "application under review" email yet? (for post interview). Sounds like that was a thing last year....

Yeah....I got one last year about 1 week after the interview. I haven't received anything yet this cycle.
