I really hope we hear some good news soon. It would suck to be waiting this whole time then just get rejected. I guess we will all know our fate by mid December 🙂!

I was thinking that too. It's great that they've considered me for so long, but it would be a bummer for that to still turn into nothing. Especially when I really like this school as well!

And I guess we will know by mid-December! That just feels like such a long time from now. Haha.

They said everyone should know their interview status by mid-December in the completion email they sent!

We will make all pre-interview decisions no later than mid-Dec.

Does anyone know how many people look at your application pre-interview? If no decision was made after the initial review, how often are they looked at again?

At my interview, they said applications are reviewed three times before interview decisions are made. I'm not sure how many people review them each time though, or if they are retained and revisited etc. The wait is hard. Hang in there!

Stats: I am OoS w/o ties to Arizona. cGPA ≈ sGPA = 3.79, Old MCAT 30 (10/section) without writing

despite my rejection as a previous poster has said, it's good to know that UA-Phoenix took 3 months to make a final decision on my application - which meant I must have been a big deal to the adcom

That's when mine came. 4:00 or so. I was surprised it was so late, I assumed I hadn't made the cut for the first day when I saw the unknown phone number with an Arizona area code. Definitely one of the best feelings I've ever experienced.

From what I could see, classes start on July 5th but there is a mandatory orientation week from June 27-July 1. So, pretty early, right when AZ has it's best weather.

Keep the faith. Several of us had the same thing happen to us last cycle and now we're here. It's not like UA Tucson where everyone is held post-interview.

Hopefully, I'll be on campus while studying for shelf exams so I can meet the new class.

This is my dream school, and I am hopeful that I will do better on my MCAT retake in 2016! For now, I will keep working as an RN and get some great experience from that which will only help me once I am hopefully a medical student!

I am wondering the type of financial aids that are available at UA - Phoenix. Are grants available or are financial aids 100% loan? Does UA - Phoenix offer any scholarships? I checked the Scholarship page and it only consists of links to external scholarships. Are there any scholarships offered by the school? If so, is that part of the financial aids application process or is there a separate scholarship application?

In past years, the school has been able to offer small grants for IS/OOS students. I can't speak to other scholarships in terms of merit, but a general scholarship fund was sent out to us earlier after we started school in July. Everyone can apply and then scholarships are awarded as money becomes available throughout the year through fundraising and contributions.

I was deferred to a later meeting and told the next date I could hear back was 11/25, so you sound correct.
