2015-2016 University of Central Florida Application Thread

Hi REL,

Thanks for your prompt response. Just to clarify, when you say that movement through the month of April was not as strong, does that also mean that movement specifically near or at the April 30 deadline was a far cry from previous years? Given that UCF COM has historically accepted all out of state students in the upper 1/3, do you anticipate this to be different this year, due to the slower movement through April?

Thanks for your time!
I would be very surprised if the upper-third was not cleaned out. Remember many will already have a "home" that they want and will either withdraw or decline an offer immediately. Don't anticipate any danger of any in the upper third.

Does this apply to the waitlist as a whole (to both in state and out of state)?

I believe this to be true for both in and out-of-state.
Hi REL,

Just wondering, now that a week since April 30th has passed, roughly how far down has the out of state waitlist moved? Is it near the middle of the top 1/6 (top third upper half section), or is it getting closer to the top 2/6 (top third lower half section) for out of states?

Thanks for the update!

a similar update for instate would be helpful as well! ^^

Understand your desire. The last update went out 4/14 so we are a bit early in the 4-6 week reports that I promised you. As noted in my May 3 post above, another round of updates will be out in about 7-10 days.

It's been super quiet! Previous years have a lot of people posting when they got accepted off the wait list. Has anyone actually heard yet or is movement that slow this year

There is definitely waitlist movement. REL explicitly said every 8-10 days new admission offers are given out. Another possibility that this forum is quiet is that perhaps people are outright giving up their acceptances here, since they may have acceptances elsewhere.

So what do we do if we didn't receive this year's Influenza vaccine? Since they're not available anymore.

If you're in the Class of 2020 FB group, there was a post about this. I believe they said that you don't need to get it anymore, you will just need to get it this fall. I'd call to double-check though!

@REL So updates are coming out this week right? What day would that be? Hope we're getting close to the lower half of upper 1/3.

Probably tomorrow......we're cruising, but everybody is. Just not being posted here I guess.

I was accepted from the bottom half of the top third (as of the last update) on Monday and will definitely be going! so they've definitely at least started to accept from this section of the waitlist! Good luck everyone!

^congrats man! Hope to be hearing some good news from UCF soon

Hi REL,

I was just curious, do you still anticipate clearing out the entire top half of the middle third before things really dwindle? Are we almost through that portion of the waitlist yet?

Thank you!

Movement suddenly screetched to a halt about 10 days ago. In previous years we had some consistent movement until about July 4th....right now we only have a couple of seats being contested. Certainly there will be more movement.....right????

REL,

Thank you for the update. Hopefully there will be more movement in the coming days and we get through more of the top half of the middle third. This is still my top choice school!

Is there a Facebook group for the UCF college of medicine class of 2020? I see one for UCF undergraduates but not one for the medical school. If so, can someone post the link here?

Just type in UCF COM class of 2020 in Facebook

Is there a certain amount of time before the UCF wait list is cleared? Does anyone know?

Welcome to UCF's discussion thread - We wish you well in the application process this year.

Hey REL,

I understand that by law, you guys can only accept up to 25% of UCF students into the UCF COM. Is there any way you can tell me how many UCF applicants there are on average ?

Thanks
