Just got an interview an hour ago. My status went from "under review by subcommittee" to "we MAY have enough interview spots for you" and then 3 days after that it changed to "you've been granted an interview". I am curious if anyone knows how much of a disadvantage it is to have an interview as late as december (when mine is) compared to say, October?

Yes I got the first status update - “The Committee's file review indicates that they are very interested in your candidacy. We are trying to get all candidates at your priority score interviewed as soon as possible if we have an adequate number of interview slots. Please anticipate an e-mail from us regarding a possible interview date.”

I got the interview invite a few days after this

Is that normal? Or should I expect there to be a complete status on my home page before seeing that status change to anything about a II?

Holy shi**... I've been "complete" since July and haven't received a status update yet, and I've been wondering why. This might be it. Nowhere in my supplemental (unless I completely overlooked it) or my status page after I submitted did it say this. I am so bloody annoyed right now. :rage::rage::rage::rage:
 
Has anyone else gone back and forth between complete(7/24)-->under review--> back to complete. I was under review for almost a week and now complete again for almost another week.

Yup, several of us. From what I can tell it doesn't mean anything.
 
"further" status update yesterday. Complete since 7/20.

I dont understand.. some are saying the "further" status is the lowest status-- IE lowest priority score. I know that interview invite date is based on your priority score as well.
But @eaglesfan5 had the same status and got an interview in Oct while some others have "higher" statuses and can only schedule invites in Jan.

No obvious logic to this system. Giving up on trying to understand it

'Further' should be below 'May' and above subcommitee.

+1 Wasn't expecting that at all based on the speculations from this thread and last year's thread, but I'm pleasantly surprised.
 
Anyone still have the complete status since July 23rd?

I was complete on 7/20 and without any updates until now:

Rejected today, complete 8/25. No status change between being complete and the rejection. LizzyM ~65. Good luck to those of you still waiting!

Unwatching this thread until my secondary comes in 🙁 I'm not sure it's even worth it to apply here anymore this late in the game. Pre-secondary submitted 7/23, LizzyM 71.
 
I have gone from "complete/will do a review" > "currently being reviewed > back to "complete/will do a review" over the past 24 hrs. Has anyone else had this happen?

A bunch of us have; I called and they said it just means that the subcommittee approved the app to go to full File Review... in other words they shifted it from one pile to another. It doesn't really mean much, other than that we're moving through the process.

damn son : /. I was complete the same time as you, honestly not expecting much since it seems they've given out so many of their invites already.
 
Has everyone with interview invites submitted 3 letters from someone of a "supervisory role"? That's what it said on VCU's website but I'm not sure how strict it is and whether professors who taught me count as a acting in a "supervisory role"...
Anyone?

you're honestly not late at all! take a deep breath. call the office if you haven't to see about your secondary. it shouldn't take this long to receive info from them.

@maybedeadcat ,
I second the above. I'll add that, you may also/instead want to email them. I have consistently found that some of the people that answer the phones at some of these schools don't have the most useful/correct information and may well end up misleading you! Emails seem to reach the more knowledgeable people.

That said, I would also seriously support unsubscribing from demoralizing threads (LOL, I just unsubscribed from Mayo actually 😛).

Thanks for your kind words and advice. I called a few weeks ago and they made it sound like I would get a secondary soon, so maybe I should email or call again. I think it would be best for my mental health to just stay away from this thread for now!
 
Lol i still haven't received a secondary..its been 1.5 months! no rejection either. I've emailed and called and they say I'm still being reviewed. Anyone else experience this or am I just some strange anomaly?? haha
