Congrats! What campus? And do you think you will accept?

Odessa. I still have an ASU interview coming up and I am hoping more schools will want to interview me. I don't have a first choice so I am happy to go wherever! I'll update you all as I know more. Has anyone interviewed at ASU or is Nov 11 the first session?

Ill be at ASU on the 11th! Not sure how to prepare though. This will be my first interview.

Ok, so I'm getting a little nervous as I haven't heard from any schools yet. I submitted my applications in August, and added UNT a couple of weeks ago. I hate waiting and not knowing when lots of others are already getting accepted. Here are my stats:

cGPA: 3.95
last 60: 4.0
Science GPA: 4.0

University of Texas San Antonio
MAJOR: kinesiology - athletic medicine

References: 1 PT, 2 Professors
Observation: 112 hrs - acute, rehab, outpatient - adult and pediatric
GRE: 149v, 148q, 3.5W - not the best, but I went into it not having studied.

Extras: Foster for animal rescues, military, speaker at a continuing education class.

Work: x-ray tech, military, M.A in pediatrics, caretaker for mentally disabled

I'm changing career fields, so my time to shadow has been limited with work, school and a family.

Let me know what you all think! I appreciate it!

I forgot to put that I applied to UNT, UTHSCSA, Midwestern - Glendale, Franklin Pierce - AZ, and NAU.

your gpa is really good and you have above the number of observation hours for the schools I've seen. It's also clear you've had experience with other things (military, several healthcare fields) so it looks good to me. Where are you applying? In forums for previous years, Unt has still been sending interviews into February/ March so I wouldn't worry about them yet. Where else are you applying?

For those interviewing at UTMB tomorrow, did any of y'all receive an email from them ? Like with additional information such as parking, location, schedule of the day, etc ??

There's a tab on their website specifically for info on interview dates - I'll post what I thought was most helpful for where to park and where to meet! I hope this helps!!

"Please meet us in the 1st floor lobby of the School of Health Professions Building. Students will be there to greet you."

"There are a few options for parking.
  1. Free parking with shuttle:
There is free parking for all at a large paved lot at 4th and Holiday. Although this is a remote lot and may not afford the same level of convenience as on-campus parking, it contains ample space at no charge. Island Transit buses run continuously from this shuttle parking lot - they stop at the covered bus stop on 4th street between Winnie and Church St. You should take the Island Transit bus and tell the driver you need to get off at 11th and Market. When you get off the bus, walk directly North 2 blocks from 11th and Market to the SHP/SON building. To get back to the "Parking Shuttle Lot" just retrace your steps to 11th and Market to catch the bus.
  2. Public Parking is available for visitors and guests in Garage #4 located at 12th & Strand or at Garage #2 located at 1000 Harborside Drive. A token is required to exit Garage #4. A booth attendant will be on duty in Garage # 2 from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday..."

I am going to park in the free lot around 11:45 so I have time to shuttle over. What time is your interview?

Thanks!
Yes I realized it was on their website last night ahah.
My interview is at 9:00

Has anyone checked the status of their Texas State app on their website? Mine says "ready for review"....hoping that doesn't mean I won't be getting an interview invite :/

Same "completed ready for review" under admission status
And
"Review in progress" under decision status

Honestly I don't think it means much, I think we'all receive the email before that status gets updated

... if the email ever comes lol

Crossing my fingers! How was your UTMB interview this morning? I interviewed this afternoon!

I loved it!!! It made UTMB "go up" in my tentative choice ranking lol

Loved the faculty and student and the format of the interview. And the overall vibe/culture of the school. I loved how involved they are in their community and getting to volunteer in the St Vincent's clinic and basically "see" patients from year 1, it's not something you see elsewhere and I like that 🙂 Only bad point was that I thought that parking was a real hassle.

How did yours go?

I feel like it went really well! I had a good talk with my interviewer. I was by myself with mine - everyone else was in pairs so I'm not sure if that was good or not. I definitely liked the campus and the program. They're supposedly a "veteran friendly" school which works to my advantage - I'm an Army veteran - so if that gets me in I'll take it! Now to sweat it out for the Texas State email 🙂

@futureptihope oh wow, really ??
In the 9 o'clock interview everybody was by themselves with the interviewer.

Did you also have a focus group?

Yeah we had a focus group. It seemed to go okay. It's hard to balance not wanting to do all the talking vs. being engaged. LOL. It seemed like almost everyone else was in a pair for the "solo" interviews, but mine was with a super awesome lady. She actually has a position with the APTA and we had a good discussion about the organization. I totally forgot to ask when we'll be notified about acceptance - did anyone in your group ask?

i'm thinking we aren't going to hear today....

Got invited to interview with Texas State and UT Southwestern today!!

I thought UTSW wasn't rolling admissions?! I haven't applied yet because I thought their deadline wasn't until Dec 1st/not rolling. That is awesome though!

Congrats to all those who got a TX State email! Happy for you guys! I didn't get one from them. 🙁

Has anyone got the itinerary for Angelo state? They said they will send a schedule for the day but I haven't received one yet.
