I almost forgot that I submitted a primary here as OOS adjacent state back in July as I never received a response. I know their process is unique with OOS, but I'd pretty much written it off. I wonder if they're getting to them now.

Received the secondary! OOS verified Aug 10. I had pretty much given up on Reno.

Hoping to hear from them soon, I've got an interview at UNLV but haven't heard anything from Reno at all.

Are you instate? You should call their office and see what's up. I'm pretty sure most IS get a secondary as long as you meet their cutoffs

Yeah, IS. I actually called twice in September and left messages with whoever it was I supposed to talk to. Never heard back from her or them
 
Just got a secondary as well! OOS. It's been so long I had just assumed I had been rejected a long time ago....
 
Ha literally got a secondary from them about 15 mins ago. Already had a handful of interviews and now they're sending a secondary, I don't get it but ok
 
Just got the secondary! OOS submitted primary back in July. Definitely plan on submitting it. However, the secondary email was followed shortly by another saying I lack 3 credits of general or abnormal psychology. One of my bachelor's degrees is in Psychology. Needless to say, I believe they've made a mistake :laugh:
 
Rejected pre-secondary just now. OOS, complete beginning of July. Guess that doesn't bode too well for my UNLV application!

Edit: OOS but from a neighboring state.

How competitive were your stats? UNR seems to be pretty stringent for OOS applications unless there are strong ties to Nevada. UNR also emphasizes a mission of promoting primary care and rural physicians whereas UNLV emphasized retaining primary care and specialists in Las Vegas. I'm just an applicant myself but I wouldn't count yourself out for UNLV if you're a bordering OOS applicant.

Stats were fine for UNR. I don't have any ties to the state, thought I'd have a shot being from a neighbor. Very thankful they didn't take my money for a secondary and then immediately reject though. Nevada, you are good people. I wish more schools would do that.

Has any OOS applicant who already submitted a secondary heard back yet?
 
does anyone who interviewed remember when pat said she would be on vacation? I remember it was december but can't remember the exact dates. I emailed her to make sure she got my residency info and there has been no reply for 11 days. If she is just out of the office I don't want to send another email, but if she didn't get it, I need to send it again. don't want my app to be held back from committee for some small mistake like that.

I sent my updates letter this week and got an automated response from Pat that she is out of the office due to a family emergency. That could also be why you haven't heard.
 
Any details on what the MMI was like, especially compared to other MMI's? I've had one other MMI interview so far and would like to be as prepared as possible for this one! Really excited to be offered an interview at Nevada this year!

This was my only MMI this cycle so I can't compare it to any other ones, but honestly I thought Nevada's MMI wasn't too terrible. I was super stressed out at first, but after the first two or three stations it was actually kind of fun. The acting stations are tough, but they're meant to be so so don't freak out if you feel like you're getting no where with them. Good luck!

I had another one at CNU...all I can say is that acting IS stressful at times, but pretend you know the person. It makes it a lot easier. I think I messed up one station, but the good part of the MMI is that you have the others to improve on. No one I know ever walks out feeling like they nailed the entire thing!!! You can do it. Obviously we can't really compare the MMIs since there are non-disclosure agreements we sign for these...just try your best. I don't think it's something you can prepare for.

I am withdrawing from here - was accepted to another school. The offer was too good to pass up. I wish you all the best. :) Didn't receive a decision on whether or not I was accepted/rejected post interview yet LOL.

I don't owe you an explanation. I find it funny that for the last few dates accounts like yours - only recently opened on the day of the message being sent to me with no prior history of any posts - are sending me numerous messages asking personal questions. Cut it out.

Whoa you need to relax and stop thinking that people are out to get you. I don't know whose been sending you messages and why you're so upset when apparently you've been accepted at a great school, so chill with the attitude and be grateful. You're right no one knows you on this site and you don't owe anyone an explanation but you're also posting info about yourself and a simple congratulations and curiosity of where you got in is not that big of a deal. God help your classmates.

I'm trying to remember back to my interview day. Did they say the first round of acceptances usually come out mid-January, or that they review mid-January and send acceptances near the end of the month?

Acceptances will be the 15th of every month starting this month. I'm assuming since the 15th is a Sunday they'll do either the 13th or the 17th

Either that or a car with 4 wheel drive since Reno can't decide between flash floods and blizzards. I slid on ice about three times driving to work today

I wouldn't plan on it today. I remember them saying "don't be surprised if they come out a little later than Jan 15th" on my interview day. So I feel like the likelihood of them sending them out early is pretty slim.

I called them yesterday and Pat said she would be in interviews all day but will try to get them in today still.
