When did you two OOS acceptances interview?
And for anyone who got rejected how was you notified? Through email or letter in the mail.

Well, if I had to guess I would assume I am being waitlisted and he got accepted. But I gave up trying to understand the process a while ago.

I wouldn't assume waitlist yet. I interviewed a while back with a few friends and was told I would have a decision in two weeks. Both friends got a call and I didn't, so I called in and was told they were behind and hadn't had a chance to go over my file for a decision at the committee meeting. I was accepted 2 weeks later. That may be the case, but can't say for sure.

Got a rejection letter in the mail today, thought my interview went very well but who knows

you know that feeling when you're about to get bad news and you get that sinking feeling in your stomach that makes you feel like you have to go pass a bowel movement, when you didn't have to go like 5 seconds ago, but the bad news somehow reached it's hand inside of you and pulled the crap out. That is what I feel as I head home to check my mail.

hey friends. welcome to MU! I'm currently a 4th year. if you have any questions, feel free to ask

I’m pretty sure they mentioned that they don’t always get to the entire interview group in one ad com meeting, so I wouldn’t assume the worst if you don’t get a decision at the same time as others in your interview group!

On a sidenote, if anyone hears about a class FB page please mention it in here.

After 2 hours of anxiety and starring at this envelope, I finally opened the letter and it wasn't a rejection. My apologies.
Hey everyone, I am going to be withdrawing. I got into my top choice and hope one of you gets accepted in my place!

You got an acceptance? When did they call?

Nope, I haven't heard back but I am calling to withdraw. I don't feel like it's right of me to keep my name in the running when I got into my dream school. I'd rather them not waste time debating me and get one of you in there. Good luck everyone.

I got an E-mail.
Someone earlier who got rejected said they received a letter in the mail.
And another person who got accepted received a phone call.

So it seems to be
Letter = rejection
E-mail = alternate
Phone call = acceptance.
Was not offered an interview. I received an email last week. I really felt I had a great chance. I have very strong ties to the state. Live in PA. 507 MCAT with a 3.76 GPA. Oh well, it’s disappointing.

Nothing like being on the wait-list and being told, you might not hear anything until May or June, when school starts in July.

Same -___- are you considering withdrawing your app since it will be so close to the start date? I may just to save myself the stress.

Not going to withdraw my application, but having such a late acceptance time is just a huge disadvantage to us. April or March would be ideal, but May or June is pushing it. A lot of schools have $2000-3000 dollar security deposits. Say we get accepted else where and we pay their security deposit to hold our seat and then the week after, Marshall calls us off the waitlist. I guess were suppose to be SOL, cause I don't know a single school who would refund that money. $2-3k might not be a lot of cash in the grand scheme of medical school, ,but not all of us have that kind of cash laying around.

It doesn't help that accepted students don't have to pay a deposit and have until April 30 to decide. Even though I'm not in that situation, I could understand why you would feel comfortable waiting until the last minute to make a decision/withdraw your application.

That is generally my problem with gunners and such. They love to hold as many acceptances as possible until the last day. Honesty never understood that. Just withdraw extra acceptances people, it isn't hard I've done it, you can too.

*techno music*.... sad attempt to liven this thread up.

As MarineMDHopeful alluded to, the 'liveliness' of these school-specific threads is directly proportional to the neuroticism of the matriculants. Choose wisely.

So I got accepted to another school, and if Marshall wants me it'll be great if they could like send me an acceptance, before I start paying this security deposit.

Arn't all deposits refundable until April 30?
