2017-2018 University of California - San Diego

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are they not putting applicants on hold anymore? If I'm not mistaken, that happened in October last year.

Teehee finally submitted my secondary just now. Someone say that's okay.

Does anyone know if UCSD does silent rejections? I haven't seen anyone post a pre-interview rejection yet o:

I believe they do but they send it in waves. I spoke to someone on admission. He definitely said they do send out rejections but not always directly after an applicant is screened.

In the completion email they said that once your file was complete, they'd tell you one of three things: interview, hold, or rejection. Then again they also said 2-6 weeks which is not true at all.

For those of you that have been accepted (congrats!) have you received a form in the mail/online that allows us to hold our spot in the class?

For those of you who recently received an II, what was the earliest date?

I haven't received any follow-up communications except for the "entering class of 2018" email.

Okay! I haven't either. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some sort of date/deadline to hold my spot in the class. If I don't receive an email next week, I will contact them!

They responded very quickly! We should be receiving the documents next week. 🙂

People reporting acceptances and I'm over here reporting an II...haha Looking forward to visiting San Diego

Congrats! I'm still here stalking the page hoping for an II!!

Stats if you don't mind?

Looks like they've started reviewing late August complete dates. Fingers crossed for IIs for those of us complete late August/early September!

I wouldn't exactly say that. Could mean that your assigned reviewer has not scored your application yet. Was told by a friend who called the admissions office that his app had not been scored yet by the reviewer. This was a few weeks ago and he was complete in July as well.

I've been noticing that the complete dates for those receiving II have been getting later and later. Makes sense if they are assigning apps chronologically. I'd assume that most screeners read their assigned applications within a certain time frame. Others may be busier and might not get to their assigned apps for scoring until months later.

A lot of us in limbo here could also be on the hold list. From what I saw on last year's thread, they generally like to release them in batches.

Just my two cents. I could be 100% wrong.

That makes sense, I hope it's the case 🙁

II just now! complete 8/13. LizzyM: 69.1

Can anyone comment on the # of total interviews, # of waitlisters, and # of acceptances?

Thanks!

Heres what i have from MSAR, I think the general rule is to multiply number of matriculants x2-3 for the number of total acceptances sent
