Good luck to everyone applying!

Is anyone having a problem where they submit the app, pay the fee, but when you go back to the app itself, it can still be edited as if it hasn't been submitted yet?

EDIT: Now the application is unable to be accessed on my end. (Stuck on login screen)

II. OOS (East Coast), but did SURP at UNMC. Really excited to go back!

Side note - anyone else having trouble logging back into the application after they submitted their preferred interview dates?

I am.
I called and they wanted a screenshot of the error so I sent it to them. They forwarded it to IT so hopefully it'll get fixed soon.

So did you receive an separate interview invite email after payment and submitting the app? I'm still stuck on log in screen after submitting but have an email into them.

Yes, they sent a separate email for the interview invite with a link that linked you back to the original secondary application.

How long after you submitted the secondary did it take before receiving the interview invite?

9/29 is earliest interview date? They're supposed to notify of acceptances by 10/1.

Edit: I'm referring to early decision. I just realized you guys are probably talking about the normal cycle.

Hello, I am OOS from KS and applying to UNMC. On their website it states that: "Upon receipt of your verified application from AMCAS, it is reviewed by the College of Medicine. If selected to interview, you will be provided with electronic secondary application to complete."

Does this mean that if you get a secondary that you have already been selected for interview?
Also, do they send another email asking for the professional photo separately or after you submit your secondary & fee?

Thanks in advance for the help!

When you receive a secondary you pick your interview date. It's all done online. Your photo is uploaded to this form as well. It all is done at once.

I didn't have that experience^ I submitted my secondary on Monday and have not received an interview invite nor was I directed to a screen to pick my interview date...

I submitted the secondary then received an interview offer where they had me complete a supplementary (not secondary..) form

That is my experience as well, though I just submitted earlier today. Hence the questions.

If OOS is it really hard to get into? Or at least an interview? I saw the stats on MSAR. OOS from NY, 507 MCAT, 3.34 cGPA undergrad, 3.95 GPA post-bac, good ECs and LORs and blah blah blah, just a bit lower on the undergrad GPA side and averageish on MCATs. One of the few distant schools I applied to but did some research on it and really liked it. Should I spend the money on the secondary? Thanks!

They're really just looking for people who are likely to stay in state after they finish their degree--in other words, if you're willing to live in NE after graduating, then submit the secondary and prove that you'd be willing to do that. Otherwise, spend elsewhere.

Thank you! Just submitted my secondary and briefly included a dedication to rural communities/serving the Omaha community. Thank you again!

I applied as a CT resident, but I worked a summer at UNMC. I think it's worth a shot, if you emphasize a desire to work in rural medicine.

Have any OOS students received interview invites yet? I submitted a while back on the 9th and still haven't gotten word.

I just did today. I know the interview dates are either August 25th or September 1st. If you have a UNO email address don't use it.

I am an OOS resident with a 3.98 and a 514 and great activities. I just received my rejection last night, and I have already completed my seconadry. Anyone in a similar boat? I thought I had a shot for an interview...

Wow that's crazy, sorry about that...

I'm sorry. OOS is extremely competitive here. Last year only 24 were accepted out of 1421 non-residents. If you were in state you probably could have interviewed/been accepted with those stats. You will definitely get in somewhere 🙂

Yeah, I'm OOS also. Although, I have super strong ties, my Native American tribal reservation is 90 miles North of UNMC and my dad owns a ton of native land up there so I think that's why they've given me two interviews so quick each time.

I used to live in NE and my dad did his fellowship at UNMC, I was hoping that would count for something but now I'm not so sure lol

I was born and raised in Brooklyn with literally no ties to NE, consider yourself lucky hahahaha
