Same. 1/16. I'm quite upset that we were not informed ahead of time about interviewing for the waitlist.

1/8 here - it’s a bit of a bummer but hey at least we’re in it together! I’d be more worried if it didn’t look like this was their Modus Operandi

As an aside, I find it strange how they haven't started sending admitted people more information. Is it just them waiting until traffic day? A few friends of mine at other programs have already started to get their school email accounts set up and received vaccination info.

I just received the email to complete my financial aid file through OASIS, but I've never set up an account? They provided a U number, but in the mean time, does anyone have experience with this?

Edit: Never mind, I just clicked new account and it was self explanatory.

How have I not received an email on financial aid yet? Maybe I missed it?

I received mine today too so maybe yours might have been marked as spam? I think it's also dependent on whether or not you've completed FAFSA but idk.

It went to a different email. That’s annoying.

Also got the email today about financial aid application. Yay! Weirdly, they're still using my undergrad U-number and account, whereas I kind of figured it would be a new account. The information in there is definitely for Morsani though...

Got nothing on my end :/

I filled out fafsa too.

It might just take a few days. I'd say that if you don't get it by the end of next week, call the USF Health Fin Aid office or send them a message. All that the email was about was the two forms that we have to fill out to apply to institutional aid; one is a student form, the other is the parental information. It doesn't give us the cost of attendance or anything yet.

My parents refuse to fill out the parent form. They are so over me asking about their financials! Does USF have an age cutoff? I’m well over the cutoff at all of my schools except the one that has not cutoff at all...

I asked during interview day and was told there is no age cutoff. :\

They pretty much flat out refused on this one. They were kind of okay with me filling out stuff on my own (they gave me info for the FAFSA and CSS profile)” - kind of), but they absolutely will not fill that form out. Humorously enough, they did their undergrads at USF. No school pride for sure.

I don't think I can ask my parents to fill out another form after the seemingly never-ending earful I got the first time around...

There is a serious problem with how this process (not USF specific) treats nontraditional students. And not the younger, I-did-a-masters nontrads, but the late twenties and up non-trads for which medicine didn't come onto the radar until well after traditional undergrad years. I get that it's difficult to sort out the students who claim financial independence but get full support and the students who are actually needy, but there really needs to be something done because the barrier is probably costing schools good medical students and creating more stress than there needs to be.

It's really unfortunate and I feel your pain.

Agreed! It makes it hard to even apply...I had to limit the number of schools because of the cost of applications and then still struggled with being able to attend interviews. Couldn't qualify for FAP because they need both parent's information, even though I don't really have much contact with one of them. I'm sure I would've qualified otherwise--just couldn't get that info. When you've been on your own for 10+ years, it's not easy to obtain.

What is your parents’ reasoning for not giving you their financial info? Just curious because your situation is so vastly different from what I have experienced

I’m 36, have been financially independent for 15 years, and have been married for 10 years. My parents didn’t fill this stuff out for undergrad, either - AND they are very private and their financial info was recently stolen from the IRS. They are naturally private people, so All these things have added up to two people very unwilling to give their financial info over.

Ahh I see, makes sense. If my info was stolen I would be hesitant to give it out as well. Best of luck

Statistically, over half of Americans' info has already been stolen in the Equifax data breach...

On the bright side, maybe you can at least get half of it on the dark web lol

I’m really amazed at how much info they gave me over the past two months. But apparently the USF form was the last straw

I'm so surprised you're being asked for your parents financial info at 36 lol

Exactly. Some schools have cutoffs for which age they require parental info. Some have none. The AAMC has no cutoff for age when considering students for FAP. It’s stupid.

There should be a rule whereby if you’re old enough to have Lucky Day as your avatar, then you shouldn’t have to report parents income and you should get a scholarship for having excellent comedic taste.

Hey everyone! Does anyone who was accepted mind telling me if they received a call from a private number or what the last two digits of the phone number were? I have a missed call from a Tampa number but not sure if it was admissions.

any current USF SELECT M1-M4 sneaking on this thread & willing to answer a couple of q's?

Dang y'all, same.
Do you guys have any idea when they'll be sending out those letters? I forgot my apartment number in the address I had on AMCAS so i am STRESSIN about accidentally missing any communication!

Anyone having issues logging into MyOasis? I created a NetID, I have my USF ID number as well, but when I try to log in, it's telling me that "There are no records to access in OASIS for this ID ". Should I just wait a couple of days?

I takes a short period of time for your account to register. How long before you tried did you create the account?

Have you received an email from USF Med asking you to fill out FAFSA forms?

I am a previous student of USF and have not gotten any word from them about it, but when I looked at my Financial Aid section on Oasis there were documents from Morsani on there.

No I filled out FAFSA after talking to the someone in the admissions office late last year.

I actually took the initiative to make a USF account/email after using the UID lookup feature and found the financial aid email in there, and not the one I listed on AMCAS.I was also able to log into Oasis and see the required stuff (cost of attendance is visible too).

Hopefully I don’t get in trouble for doing that lol.

I feel like I'm going to have to do that too. I was a transient student at USF so I feel like the email got sent there instead of my primary email

And of course as soon as I figure that out they send an email about another log in/email set up.🙄

Just got the acceptance email... is anyone else having problems actually accepting the offer through the portal? I signed into my application, I see the new forms under the "offer" tab with the technical standards, points of contact, and email set-up, but the actual "offer" part of the offer tab is blank. Anyone else having this, or do you guys actually see an option/button to press under the tab? I feel like a dodo bird, lol.

When did you interview if you don’t mind me asking?

Just for future lurkers... neurologue was accepted back in October or something. Still waiting to hear someone who interviewed after December who has been accepted. . .

I don’t see anything under the offer tab either but I figured it was because I was early decision

Can you accept the offer? I couldn’t figure out what they were talking about in that email.

So all of you above were accepted but havent been able to actually officially accept the offer yet even if you were accepted by phone a few months ago?

If thats true then that means people aren't actually (because they cant) accepting the offers until now per se from fall of 2017.

That would make sense why they waitlist a lot of people in January and on- If they take so long to give access to allow people to officially accept offers than they don't know how full the class really is in January. With that being said, wouldn't it take sense to waitlist everyone directly so they can gauge how full their class is in a few months?

I feel as though if people were able to accept the offer right away not everyone would be waitlisted initially post-january

Edit: Idk if theres any logic here I'm just trying to figure out the waitlist thing before i even interview

I think you’re reading a bit too much into it my dude. Accepted people received packets that contained an acceptance acknowledgement that you had to send back to them.

The waitlist past January thing has been rumored for the past few years now, just based off the SDN threads (a very small sample size however). It’s also possible the the hurricane threw a small wrench in the works for all FL schools.

It literally does not matter. At all. You shouldn't be changing your interview performance based on if its for an actual seat or not. Even if its for an actual seat you can still get waitlisted. If its for waitlist you can get rejected. Either go with the intentions to perform well or don't go at all.

I had the same issues with the Offer page being blank, but for some reason it briefly loaded with the prompt to accept the offer. I clicked yes and submit and now the page is blank again so I'm not sure if it actually went through or not.
