. Does anyone know what percentage of students are accepted post-interview here? really interested in the school!
They told us 70% on 11/1 but later on the cycle, the acceptance rate goes down because they have fewer seats to fill. Just know if you have an interview they like you enough to accept they just want to make sure this school is a great fit for you! Let me know if you have any questions about interview day ( besides what questions they ask... that has been answered a few times in this thread)

I second this. If it is a distant relative and not mentioned anywhere that you are related you would be fine because who would know?... but to be safe I would recommend getting another one.
Okay thank you!!

Congrats! Do you mind sharing stats?
MCAT 498 -> 504
GPA 3.38
sGPA 3.22
strong upwards academic trend with grades
volunteering, shadowing, 6 LORs, grad program, lots of experience with DOs
honestly didn't think I did well during the interview so I was sooo happily surprised to receive a call!

Did you submit your casper results to them?

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great. I did not do casper.
Thanks and that sounds good since I didn’t do Casper either lol. I’m thinking if I just show them I’m personable at the interview then the Casper test won’t matter.

Would you pick acom over wcucom?
I was accepted to both those schools, and they both have their pros and cons. Going to wcucom would put you in a big happy supportive family with a smaller class size and a huge emphasis on student-student and student-faculty interaction. On the other hand, ACOM seems to be more organized and focused on preparing students for the boards and they have the best simulation experience. You can't go wrong with either one.

What are some of the most important things to know when you're preparing to enter OMS-1 at ACOM?

have a workout routine. Learn to cook and prep. Learn your study style. Mandatory attendance takes up a lot of time. It’s not the most effective use of time. So be prepared to study late most nights.

If anyone is interviewing tomorrow (11/22) and is spending the day here, PM me if you wanna check out the area! Staying here till Saturday noon.

Does anyone recommend any hotels in Dothan? Interviewing in 2 weeks!

Any thoughts on ACOM vs PCOM GA vs VCOM
Hey there, current ACOM student. I have friends at PCOM GA (I am an Atlanta native, and I will caution you that their attendance policy is quite strict. I believe attendance policy is 80% or higher. The bigger thing I would warn against is that they do NOT record their lectures. I think any current med student would attest that being able to rewatch lectures is a must, especially for note taking / if you missed the lecture. I've heard only good things about VCOM, so just pick which school you feel best about! Best of luck 🙂

Hey there-do you know how much movement there was off the pre-II waitlist your application year?

I interviewed 11/22 and got waitlisted :/ I’m so depressed. Thought my interview went really well!

Anyone know about the waitlist stats? Do you think there’s a chance I might get off the waitlist in a month? Do I have a fighting chance at ACOM?

And anyone else hear back from the 11/22 interview?

Did you interview on 11/22 as well?

According to my research and looking at last year’s forum, I feel like if we get waitlisted it’s basically a VERY slim chance to get off the waitlist and actually be accepted. Even then we will find out I’m June/July.

I’m still so sad.

I don't think you should base it on the forum because not everyone post on it. At the same time I don't want to give us false hope. Let's wait it out and see.

From current students I have spoken too, there is a decent chance of getting off the waitlist if you’re in the top half. Things can change every year though!

Me too. I hope to see you there next year! (I am also WLed).

I'm also wondering if they are just waitlisting everyone instead of rejecting post-interview. I feel like that would make getting off the waitlist that much more competitive.

Based off of this link, ACOM’a interview acceptance rate would be 60%.

I think a lot of people were accepted from 11/22 interview. I know. I'm as bummed out as you are.

I interviewed on 11/22 and was accepted. I’m wondering about a few things. I was not able to tour Summerfield, is there anyone who lives there now or used to who can explain what you did or did not like about it and also a little bit about their pet policies (breed restrictions?/if I don’t have a pet yet because I want to find one once I move in would that work?). Also I have a tattoo on my ankle that is small and covered easily with a spot bandaid - do tattoos matter to anyone for example in OMM if I have the one and hopefully will have more soon?, it seems silly. Finally, this also seems like a silly question but do we get to keep the iPad and computer or is there some reason we get them for four years and have to give them back to ACOM?? Thanks a lot! Good luck to everyone waiting to hear or waitlisted!!!!
