2024-2025 Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (OCOM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I know they changed their requirement 500 to recommendation but has anyone sub 500 actually ever been accepted here or was that changed just to get more apps in??😵‍💫
They told me they will look at apps with MCATs 495 and above.

Received an ii OOS . However, only gave me March interview dates. Why is it that late?

+1, I saw there are December and February dates available. Maybe you can email admission and ask for earlier date?

if you’re an accepted student, how do you plan on paying for this? I know they don’t take federal loans but I want to see if others were offered scholarship.

LM 60/57, I think.. The calculation changes :/
Oh, that’s about the same as mine! I got a later interview date too :/. I wonder if they’re saving the earlier dates for more competitive applicants cause I did see earlier dates as well. Will they cancel the IIs if they fill all their seats? 🥺

How do you guys feel about the school in general? Any thoughts on its accreditation status or all the other stuff people talked about from previous threads/reddit?

I don't think they'll cancel II, there's always waitlist position if its filled. We’ll be ok 😊 is this your first interview?

It is! Super nervous because I’ve been doing some internet surfing…maybe too much internet surfing 😖.

Congratulations! First interview definitely nerve-wracking... did you do a mock interview during your prep? I find that to be super helpful.
Me too.. Internet surfing is no bueno lol... When is your interview scheduled? You can pm me 🙂

For those wondering about the binding contract this is the answer I got from OCOM:
Our enrollment agreement is said to be binding as we are also making a commitment to the student and want to ensure our students are committed to us as well. However, there is no legal penalty for withdrawing your acceptance before matriculation. The only disadvantage is you would lose your $100 seat deposit.

I interviewed today virtually. You will have two, 20-minute interviews succeeding an hour presentation on the school, curriculum, and financial aid since it's a private institution. Good luck everyone!

Congratulations on your interview! Is it correct that they don't have a cadaver for the anatomy lab?

For anyone that was accepted, how were you notified?
They sent me a package with confetti cannon, magnet, and QR code with video and then they called and emailed later the same day

The package was post dated the day after my interview. The official call came 6 days later
Thank you! I interviewed in person on Monday and I have been neurotically checking my email lol. Glad to know there are multiple ways to find out!

I didn’t even trust the package tbh. It was mailed too soon and had no official looking “congrats” type message. I was skeptical af

Post II R today. Interviewed 10/16. I'm super shocked but lucky enough to have an A somewhere else, so not too upset.

IS II received today! However, the only interview slots they gave me are for March 🙁

anyone know or have any ideas why there’s only March interviewing dates now?

Anyone who interviewed on 11/6 know when we're supposed to hear back?

Probably 2-4 weeks, honestly I don't remember they say anything about it. After my interview, I logged off immediately.

Lol me too !! Was a little sad but very grateful to have been offered for an interview. This is not a no, just a not yet ! We got this !
Hey, I think I saw you on a different DO thread and wanted to say I LOVE your spirit!! It is so amazing to have such a positive energy! I was thinking to myself, these medical school are crazy not immediately accepting an applicant like you! You’re comments has been so kind and empowering.. it would be an honor if we ended up in same class! I really wish you all the best in your journey! ❤️

I appreciate your kind words!! It means the world ❤️ It is so easy to be hard on ourselves, but we should all be proud of how far we have come, no matter the outcome. Even the most qualified students fall through the cracks every year! It's all about being content and grateful no matter the outcomes because we know we did our best !
