My understanding is that after interviewing you can be accepted, waitlisted, or denied based on your overall score (GPA combined with MCAT & interview score). So while it seems like people are just being waitlisted, if you have a good enough score, you can still be accepted.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I misunderstood!

This does not seem holistic AT ALL. Their website is lying or this is wrong.

I mean thats just how it goes at every single school there is. Holistic review takes place before one receives the interview usually

This is for their Fall 2018 class but they interviewed 286 students and accepted 97 of them. That's a little over 33%. I got all of this from here: https://md.nova.edu/admissions/admissions-requirements.html. There also doesn't seem to be any stats from their Fall 2019 class.

they also said they accept 3x the intended class size & then it ends up being around 50ish so I feel like it's not a precise number they accept??

In the previous cycle, it looks like people were pulled OFF the rejection list for a WL. I doubt it will be like that this cycle, but it says something about anticipated WL movement.

It's evaluated. I think they said they look at your score as an individual and also compare your group's performance with your cohort.

Is anyone else interviewing on Friday? How are you feeling? It’s my first MMI and PBL so to have them at once is intimidating. Anyone who’s already interviewed have any advice or some inside scoop if ur cool w sharing?


Edit: The main reason I ask is because this is also the only school I’m interviewing at so far that doesn’t have one of the sdn interview raters for it since it’s relativity a new md school, and those sdn pages honestly help me out tremendously. So if anyone who knows what I’m talking about could do that, I’d be so greatful. Was it chill? Did they ask ethics questions or more like asking us to act out a situation w an actor? What was the PBL like? Ya know? Anything truly helps, and thanks in advance.

I know, it can feel discouraging getting waitlisted. I interviewed here in December and haven't heard back yet, but recently found out from another school that I got waitlisted. And I happened to be a reapplicant to that school, too, so was hoping for a different outcome. But once we get an acceptance, this waiting won't matter! We can do this! Please know that you're not alone!!

Stats for u guys that I heard— they got 3,200 secondary apps and have interviewed about 200 so far. Last year they accepted about 170 from 400 people interviewed. Not too bad odds for the one who interviewed
