I just saw the Tampa Bay campus and it’s beautiful, the staff there (in my opinion) are awesome!

I met the best professors and they gave me a lot of good advice on study habits I’m going to use as a med student. Also rent is so much cheaper in that area and I loved the community around the campus, it’s so vibrant! The students really do make you feel that you’re apart of a family and they were so helpful in showing me around.

I’m definitely switching to the Tampa Bay campus, I believe it’s so much better than the Davie campus. I hope to see you guys there, the next 4 years of my life is going to be awesome!! 🙂 🙂

Who did you e-mail to schedule the tour? And was it fairly easy? There are cheap flights from where I'm at to Tampa for next week and was hoping I might be able to schedule a tour and look at some apartments.

Just interviewed today, 3/3/2020. Joseph Sliba was sooo entertaining. He is a gem. It did not feel like an interview day at all. My interviewers asked me general questions about my application, my motivations, and what I am doing now. I thought I wanted Davie but Clearwater is gorgeous!!! And the weather is really what's pulling me towards this school and Florida. Only thing was that I felt like the day was soo long. They really want you to get to know their mission.

School is more geared towards rural and medically underserved populations in Florida and other parts of South Asia and Latin America

Not sure but I’ve heard DO schools don’t give out as much scholarships as MD schools. It’s actually pretty rare for DO schools. They offer little. Like $1,000 to $2,000. Nothing like 25% or more for tuition.

Same! I’m really only going to NOVA If I get into the Davie campus.

They said that last year there were 100 people moved off the waitlist, and that the campus waitlist gets preference over the general waitlist, so hopefully we’ll all get into Davie soon.

Really? At my interview a month ago they said there were about 10 on the waitlist so it seems weird that number went up so little especially cause i and some other applicants I know got put on the waitlist after our interview

Are you referring to the Admission Waitlist or Davie Campus waitlist? The previous posts were talking about Davie Campus Waitlist. So I think it's possible for the number to be that low since they seem to send out acceptances once a month (it could be more than that, but I am not sure).

Hi, current M1 here. Attendance is mandatory for labs (anatomy, histo, physical diagnosis and Opp) and physical diagnosis lecture. These are every week pretty much. The only pass fail class is your shadowing rotation, everything else is graded. I don’t know about rotations yet that’s too early for us to know. It’s not common but there are people who repeat classes for sure but there’s a lot of support from your peer mentors and there are reviews every week. It all comes down to how much time you dedicate to studying. Also if you don’t want to pursue primary care you don’t have to, our winter rotations this last January included many specialties, I myself had Cardiology and GI and my current preceptorship doctor is a neurosurgeon. Is it like that for everyone? No. Like any other medical school you can pursue whatever specialty you want. Hope this helps.

They are still offering seats to the Clearwater campus and you can accept that and place yourself on a waitlist for Davie.

Visited the Clearwater campus today and it truly is such a beautiful campus. Talked to some current M1's and they seemed happy with where they are at and their decision to stick with the new campus! Really solidified my decision to keep Clearwater as my campus as well. Excited for the next 4 years!

I had my interview for 3/31, received that email on Tuesday, but have yet to receive the follow-up email too. I'm sure the admissions office is still figuring out the details, so we'll receive the update soon. Good luck to anyone with a remaining NSU KPCOM interview 🙂 !

Yeah I just got the II today and scheduled it for 3/19. I would call them to confirm but I think you’re fine since there’s no separate virtual interview appointment scheduler, it’s all the same. Only thing you have to do is sign up for the zoom account online.
