It is essentially going to their sim lab and rotating around a few things. one of the things is working with a robotic mannequin/patient, one is working with their virtual reality stuff, and one is students giving a demonstration/explanation of OMM and how it works at Nova. It was very relaxed, informative, and fun!

Hey guys!
Current OSM-1 checking in. I felt like I was left in the dark my entire application process and I don't want that to happen to you all. If anyone has any questions regarding the application process, interview day, life as a student at NSU, or med school in general, feel free to message me! I'm currently at the Tampa Bay regional campus so I can answer questions regarding that as well. Be patient, trust the process, and be confident in yourself! I didn't interview until April and was accepted 3 weeks later in May. It feels like a lifetime waiting for that interview invite, and even longer waiting for a response afterwards. Just keep your head up! Anyways, keep being awesome! I hope to meet you all next year as fellow sharks!

Can you speak on your experience thus far in regards to your medical education, where you live or recommend living. Anything else you would find helpful and anything that would benefit OOS students?

Do any current students know how much dedicated boards study time the school gives? I asked some students at my interview and they said not enough, but I couldn't get an exact answer
 
Hey guys, we should make a pros and cons list for both campus sites as I feel everyone is struggling with which campus better fits them. Has anyone done their research on this?

Current 3rd year. That’s probably because it’s not a clear cut response. There’s ~8 weeks between M2 and M3.... but that includes make up exams, remediation, ACLS, PALS, required COMSAE, rotation site paperwork/compliance training/orientation, moving, etc. Really felt like not enough.
 
Hi! is it normal that I never got an email saying that my app was complete or anything like that? How does it look like it the portal when your app is complete?

did you take USMLE and COMLEX? and do you see any chance that they increase the amount of dedicated time? also do you know the typical amount of dedicated time provided by other medical schools is? 12 weeks? sorry for the successive questions
 
For any current student, I just wanted confirmation: Nova offers free board prep material and free online material for classes right? So no need to buy any book or other study material?
 
Hi everyone, just wanted to see if there were any current first year students lurking the boards - I really liked the school when I interviewed, but the board score issues/upheaval of the curriculum makes me hesitant to move forward with my acceptance. I wasn't really able to glean a good sense of what the current curriculum is because our student ambassadors were second years, so I'd love to hear from a first year student that is currently wading through the schedule change.

It seems like they're moving towards a 2 pass system, but starting second semester instead of first. Their online curriculum guide is also very, very confusing and I'm not sure if this is current to reflect the new curriculum. I really want to attend a school that follows this systems method (as I think it would be beneficial for me personally in terms of material exposure to make board prep more effective), so any help is appreciated!
 
It’s nice to see an increase in board scores, if a current student could comment on how preparations for boards went at Nova I would appreciate it, I'm not expecting anything special to be done at Nova I am just curious if students felt they were disadvantaged on boards due to the lack of dedicated time or having to take COMLEX and USMLE or any other reason. I recognize my boards and med school experience will return largely what I put in and am eager to put in the effort, I'm just curious if students felt they were on a level playing field for boards with other schools.

To everyone that keeps posting asking if there are any first years on this thread. There aren’t and there really haven’t been all cycle and I don’t think that’s gonna change. When I interviewed in August, the m2 mentioned they wished he had more of a focus on boards but that the new curriculum was hyper focused on them. He said he was jealous of how much more the first years were getting of the board prep than he got with the new curriculum
 
anyone know/can predict when there will be another wave of interview invites?
