There is a whole list of fees they take out each semester on top of tuition. The only money you see is the money allocated for COL. I think the 2000 for books is just given the first semester if I remember correctly, I might be wrong though.

For the upcoming MS1 students, the COA has "books & supplies" estimated at $2000 per semester, plus $1000 for a computer (1X), for a total of $5000, broken into fall and spring payments.
