similar thing happened with Mcgovern secondary

Also, are Long and UT Health San Antonio affiliated with the undergraduate UT San Antonio? Or are all the UT Health schools pretty independent?

No, UT Health San Antonio is separate from UTSA undergrad and apparently there are people who get somewhat offended when people don't know this. I also got the impression that each UT school functions independently.

But most people will probably say UTSW >= McGovern > Galveson=Long (i think)

Long is higher ranked although Galveston lost its ranking due to the school being closed and now slowly inching backup.

Most everyone will put UTSW higher, although I do know a handful of people who ranked a different school above UTSW because they didn't feel they were a good fit for the school personality-wise.

People will argue all day (and every year there are threads on this) but I think between UTH, UTHSCSA, and UTMB, it's really a matter of personal taste and fit. All of them have great curricula, send students to every residency imaginable, and are located in cool places. I picked San Antonio because I like the city, liked all the free time we get between MS2 and MS3, and they had a 4 year MD/MPH option. Also felt students and faculty were more laid back there than elsewhere I interviewed.
 
Does anyone know when this school tends to send OOS post-II decisions? October 15?
 
Is UT Long showing up on people’s rank lists in TMDSAS? I interviewed in sept and it’s still not showing.

Does anyone know how Long schedules their interview dates? If I haven't heard anything yet should I give up hope? My mom went to medical school at Long and I love the school and really really hope to interview. I'm starting to get worried at this point in the application process though.

lol SW and baylor are miles above all other texas schools. mcgovern and long are similar in caliber. ofc its a texas md so its amazing either way but in terms of comparison.
 
II today and I was complete in early June. Looks like they may have started going back over some of their "maybe" candidates at this point. Dates offered were Oct 4, 11, and a tuesday that I forget the date of.
To those who have already interviewed: do you have any feedback on the questions relative to other schools? Did anything in particular stand out compared to other schools?

I felt like my interview was very laid back. Questions were related to personal experience. There wasn't anything random, from left-field, or out of scope. It was similar to my Dell interview, but slightly more structured. Reminded me of a more personal job interview.

At my interview I was told straight up not expect pre-match from Long because they believed it was unfair to offer applicants spots while others were still interviewing and that they would not be giving out many prematches, if any at all.

I don’t know how accurate this is though, but this is what I was told as well

They have never given more than a few prematches, mainly to superstars
