2019-2020 UT San Antonio (Long)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They might or might not, but the later we get in the interview season the less time you might have to plan and go to an interview
Yeah, that's why I was wondering if these lucky folks lived in SA. After all, it's only 3 days before 11/22.

Has anyone personally or know of anyone who received a prematch? I know they said they pre-match very few but I didn’t think they meant no pre-matches.

Some people certainly do- I know a few. Just not common

during this cycle?
Yes on page 6 of this thread someone announced an acceptance. And remember that SDN members who share information are a subset of SDN members who just read it. And SDN members are a very small proportion of med school applicants

During my interview at Long I met an MS1 who said she was pre-matched. She said that only about 30-40 pre-match offers were given her year, and everyone who got one found out on the first day pre-matches were allowed (November 15th).

Hey guys,

So I interviewed a couple weeks ago but one thing I remember standing out to me is their PowerPoint where they showed their average (or median i can't remember) MCAT score was a 515.

I was shocked at how high this was given I was under the assumption Long and McGovern were both 512ish. I don't have MSAR but can anyone confirm this or did I misread?

MSAR gives the median as 514 and as you know, median is not the same as mean.

Congrats on the interview. Is Long on your rank list yet?

Accepted recently! I loved this school but thought my interviews went horribly. Pleasantly surprised
Congrats! I guess its a good thing you attended the interview! If you don't mind me asking, what's your TMDSAS ranking looking like? I interviewed at similar places (McGovern, Long, Dell) and am struggling to decide how to rank.

Yes I’m very happy I decided to go to the interview haha. I’ll PM you!

woah wait they sent some prematches recently? I guess they're not doing waves but rather individuals

It could’ve been a wave. I may have just been the only person to report it on SDN for the latest wave.

God amongst men. 15 acceptances holy crap
Thanks man, but I think it’s because I applied to a lot more programs than I needed to. I’m nontrad so I was worried about my chance of being accepted anywhere.

Honestly ended up getting acceptances to places I thought I had no business going to and don’t regret it.

I hope cataloging my experiences will help others who are in my shoes in the future.

Also got a prematch offer recently and interviewed 10/11

do you guys mind posting stats? I thought my interview went AMAZING and my stats are pretty high. I know Long doesn't do a ton of prematches so I'm wondering if you guys are superstars in the stats category.
