I told them I’d be flying across the country and have an interview 1.5 hours drive away. But they might not be receptive to ITA regardless of situation.

They do not care. They are not receptive to ITA requests to review your application. They do work with you to help with dates once you are offered an interview. But they will not pull your file for review based on the fact that you will be in town.
 
Did anyone get the email / Is anyone going to the DICE informal dinner the night before?

interview was stressful in your opinion or more relaxed? and by system do you mean the yale curriculum? what'd you think of new haven

Yes the Yale System is the yale curriculum, if you interview there, be ready to answer why you would be a strong fit, they will ask.

New haven is lovely, but I am biased as I have lived there before. Fun fact is that its the town in the US that is most representative of the entire US population in terms of demographics. This means its diverse in all areas, incredibly vibrant, and has lots of things to do. The yale graduate school community is also very tight-knit and with the undergrad campus right there, there is tons to do that is yale-related and lots of people doing cool things. The downside is that outside of Yale, options are more limited, but there is nature close by and lovely neighborhoods to live in. If you end up wanting to see more city life, the train is accessible and 15 dollars/2 hour ride to Grand Central in NYC.

They’ve sent a large portion already. Someone earlier in the thread said the earliest available dates are Oct/Nov.

Fingers crossed for both of us. :whistle:

It's supposed to be a very research focused school so I hope that bodes well for us, Although with your 15 II, you probably have a better shot 😉
 
For those who interviewed already, did the day run until 5:30 PM? I have a flight to catch at JFK and I could make it if we’re done at 5:30 but it would be cutting it close and hope I can board a train by 5:30 PM.

It varies. I had an interview at 430 and got out at 6. But some get out at like 4

Nice of you! What aspects of the Yale System do you most appreciate? Do you feel like you've had good mentorship/guidance (both for research and for everything else)? Do you feel like Yale (med school) makes a big effort, and succeeds in, connecting with the local community-- and how?

Does anyone know if we can store our luggage with the admissions office during the day? Have a train to catch right after 🙁
 
Did anyone ask about their thank you note policy post-interview? Cool to send (email) directly to interviewers?
