Would you guys say end of February is the end of interview period?

also not everyone who is in the FB group may matriculate!!!! I am in a DO's schools FB group but don't know yet if I will eventually matriculate there until I hear from other schools.

oh trueeee yeah they usually give out more acceptance than matriculants, hopefully january is our month haha, been complete since early August 🙁

Just to give more info- in my interview they said they’d accept 130~ I believe. Those that get accepted most likely attend is what they said I think. Also some people may not be in FB yet, I know I’m not.

I’m applying really late to a few schools that fit my stats, I submitted primary Dec 1, secondary invite Dec 4 & I competed a week after. I’m really hoping to hear from this school, first gen Mexican American from an underserved town, dual bachelors degree in Cell Bio/Public health, 3 years research w/poster presentation, solid volunteering & leadership experience, 4 years scribe, 1 year ER tech (during gap year), strong LOR including one from FSU alumni(idk if that carries any weight), 3.9 gpa, and lastly what I dislike the most of my application is a 504 mcat (may retake if I don’t get any attention). Figured I’d be transparent if anyone can give any feedback??

Your ECs look solid, especially scribing and ER tech, and gpa is good, the mcat could be slightly below average ( I think FSUCOM average is 507?) but you have a good shot at FSU 🙂 it is slightly late tho, and as someone previously said on this thread, seems like at least half of the incoming class seats are filled already

Thanks for the feedback! I’m hoping for some attention, also applying DO but FSU is by far my top choice. I heard they like reapplicant though. I love 15-20 minutes from their rural site in immokalee & scribed at affiliated hospital in Sarasota so I’m really hoping for an interview from this school

I know some of my current M1s who didn't get interview invites until the middle of March and interview at the beginning of April. If you go back and look at the threads from previous application cycles, you will see FSU generally interviews through April. Again, all this assumes COVID hasn't drastically changed things. And yes, this means that there were literally people accepted that had under 6 weeks to uproot their lives and move to attend medical school.

I know officially that last year they accepted around 140-150, I don't remember the exact number. Might be in MSAR. It was the lowest number of Admits they've ever had to give out to obtain 120 matriculants in the history of FSU COM's admission.

hi! I received an interview invite this morning from FSU. I am OOS, 3.9 504. I have other acceptances in state so I will not be attending the interview but the day they scheduled me for is Feb 5th via zoom. Good luck and I hope this helps
 
Has anyone that got an interview last cycle gotten an invite yet? I applied super late last time and got an invite literally this day last year
 
Does anyone know when away rotations are? I tried looking in the handbook and it seems they are all 4th year? I feel like I’m probably reading it incorrectly!

They all need to be 4th year since visiting electives require completion of core clerkships almost everywhere.
 
Does anyone know if FSU accepts update letters or letters of intent?
 
Have any of my fellow early-mid September complete dates heard anything?

Thanks for the reassurance. Its just so hard to hear nothing for so long. Sometimes I forget I've even applied to medical school haha. I really don't know how they are gonna actually review all of the applications sent in through November. They can only realistically interview for two more months right?

I’m pretty sure they interview till April. So 3 months

I completely feel ya (I submitted slightly after u in September! I’m waiting on interviews too, but my philosophy is not to stress about things not under our control 🙂 they interview through April, and there’s plenty of time until then! Best wishes!
 
Sooo did anyone else suddenly get an application complete email? I've been complete since 10/5. At that time though, I only received an email that said my application fee was waived. I then sent an email on 10/23 to ask if my application is complete. I guess I can say they finally got back to me :shrug:

yeh that happened to me too. I think it doesn't mean anything negative
 
For those who have interviewed already, did you find out who your interviewers were ahead of time or was it completely random?
